My stupid Rap Friend

How do I get him out of rap and techno and into Metal, the only thing even close to metal was some kickass riff replayed over and over to a techno beat, and it was still too techy for most's tastes, I'm just tired of going to his place, or he coming to mine, and hear fucking blaring electronic nailguns and fucking repetitive synth. Sometimes I have to slap him in the throat to make him change it, fuck.

If you try to make him like what you like then he will eventually become your clone which dosn't make for a real diverse friendship. However, If you must have him change his personality and life style which makes him unique, you should read up on some Sociology about how people need to "Justify their irrational decisions"

My friend was into all that crunk/rap crap, I let him listen to some metal, and by a year he got into metal. I like one rap group, they're called Such A Surge, they're from Germany and they blend rap with metal, they kick serious ass.

seconded! And furthermore would you feel very comfortable if YOUR friend would try to get you out of metal and into rap? I guess it would piss you off like hell. So wtf?

Let him listen to his music and you listen to your music. It's that simple na isn't it?

So people will choose to listen to a different genre, just to be different? that's pretty much what you have summed up here dude!

But in agreement to your overall point, yeah people should be entitled to listen to whatever they like, not everyone likes the same things.
I bet there are foods you like to eat, that other people in your circle don't like to eat. Would you insist that they eat what you do to? (to thread starter)

Would you like for friends to make you listen to what they do? or make you eat what they do, even if those are the things that you really hate?

Yeah as Von Dark said, grow up, respect your friends for who they are, not what they like.

Besides if everyone has the same tastes and liked all the same things, it would make the world an extremely boring place
