How To Spot A Nutjob, Ngpuleez

Only on the internet is it possible for someone to drop the name Stephen Hawking into any sentence to define what a nutjob isn't. Only on the internet is it possible for a 15-year-old kid to express their total disrepect to the President, and not get punched out for it.

The problem is there are large number of nutjobs (aka conspiracy theorists ie. friends of terrorists) on the internet and before entering into a debate you need to spot the nujobs, single them out, and target them with appropriate derision and scorn.

How to Spot a Nutjob.

A nutjob will..

1) make repeated accusations about Bush, or claim governments are uniformly evil.

2) generally speaking, they will have a daily average postcount inversely proportionate to their IQ.

3) most likely be a lifelong student of some description, and typically avoid paying taxes, or voting, or actively participating in much of anything (..otherwise known as a "shut-in").

4) their posts, althou frequent, will repeat the same limited theme, over and over.

5) they might form a crew (more like a cult) which will aim to expose "evil stuff".

6) they will make or link to similar sites, all with similar themes, all with "evil happenings".

7) they will have a username which is "anti" or expressing hate (ie. anarchistic).

8) by checking a few of their previous posts you can catch the whole simple pattern of their illogic, and thereafter, blissfully ignore what they actually have to say.

9) if you call them a "conspiracist" they will get totally defensive! (..hours of fun if you had the time, which you don't).

10) they almost always have a presence that they know what they are on about, which is highly likely because they only read from one source (..anything which confirms their limited point of view).

If we degrade ourselves to observing generalizations like this, no matter how often they are true, we are simply going to be moving backwards in intelligent debate. I don't see this as much different from calling all opponents who support a certain argument "godless" or "rednecks."

It depends on the anarchists, the anarchist doctrine probably doesn't include expressing hate, negative feelings perhaps, but hate is something more along the lines of the KKK, or neo-nazis, or those who simply pretend that they hate life.
