I'm curious about something folks. If all the civilian posters would vote in this thread on whether or not to allow gays to serve. I don't want this to turn into a discussion topic until voting closes on Thursday. There are already threads for that, so please no editorializing. I'll also set up a thread for military to post. NOTE: if you are a military brat or are on the delayed enlistment program and have not yet COMPLETED Basic and tech school please consider yourself a civilian since I'm trying to compare the opinions of those who have experienced the active duty world against those who have not. Thank you.
Mods: I hope this is okay. If not please close these topics with my sincere apologies!
Please vote either:
Let them serve.
Don't let them serve.

Why does it matter, we have no power over the matter, we don't elect who runs the military, so it's useless to decide for it.

Why post on newgrounds at all. Nothing said here has any power of anything.
It is for our individual insight on what others believe. Also since there are dual threads about this, one for military and one for civillian you are actually able to compare what people who do or have served think compared to what your people who have yet to server, or have never served think. Its always fun to find out that civillians think that certain things that the military does screws up morale and is all bad, yet other things that they think don't matter really do to the people serving.

Let them serve, it's not like you can prevent it by making a law against it.
Like: Gay wants to join the military, gets asked if he's gay, answers no.

Let them-- as long as they do not approach other soldiers of the same gender.

Let them serve, although, as many astute political observers have pointed out, they'll probably be fantasizing about men whilst they are getting shot at by Iraqis, thereby reducing their productivity.
I don't see how the hell this is an issue in the first place. Do people honestly believe something like that?

I'm interested to know why people wouldn't want them to serve in the army. So if you know and want to tell me, pm me, seeing as the topic starter doesn't want a discussion yet.
