Comments and crits pretty please!

It looks good, but if I might add one suggestion, seeing as it's basically made of metal, you might want to add more highlights and.. I dunno... metalic looks? Haha... yeah.

I'm all alone in this thread :(

Well then make the COW 50 voting thread XD

True, I can't seem to grasp how to make it too shiny yet, I'm getting there though!

it all has to do with the speculars.
he explains it alot.

its also the reason that 3d face looks like plastic.

WOW, sick tutorial site! Thanks a bunch! I read over a few of the topics already, and it seems like it will be very valuable in learning to color properly. As for the 3-D face, I know its all shiny, it was because I used a Phong texture material instead of a Lambert. Unsure of why my teacher told us to do so, but it was pretty funny seeing the classes faces look like toys haha. I'm pretty much done with 3-D until next year when I start animation, so I will keep practicing the digital painting.

The coloring tips on that site really seemed to help alot! I feel like I am improving bit by bit.

Well, haven't been around here in a while, and I have a bit of stuff to show.

Here is a character I am developing for my 2-D animation class, so expect to see him walking, running, or blasting aliens or something!

-That's what my class told me as well. Its all because of that back mountain, you should be able to see the top of it a bit, but I doubt I will go back and fix it.

-Thank you good sir, I'm hoping to get much better by the end of next year's animation class!

Any fans of Battlestar Galactica? Used many references for this, took some time.

That looks really good, but it would look a lot better without the spiral galaxy or the box showing the guy's face. The composition of the piece would benefit by removing both of those, too.

Other than that, it's very detailed and technically, it's a well-drawn piece.

Looking through your art, I can see that you're very good at drawing some things, but other things you either have no practice with or tend to skip over or rush because you know you're not very good with them.

I second that, I really do need to practice some other things, I tend to stick to characters, and my backgrounds are usually terrible, I'm hoping to change that over the next few months though!

Here is a WIP for the new CHOW, and I would really like some help with this one. I know my perspective is off, but I can't seem to get it right, so any tips would be appreciated!

Hey thanks for the help SmilingIdiot! I like what you did there with the gun, I think I'm gonna try and change some stuff up for it quick before tonight, but as for the robot hand, I kinda want to keep it low so you can see the bullet passing through. Really wish I started this one earlier haha, but thanks again for the advice!

I was experimenting with using some textures as well, but I think the building came out pretty shitty :/

Ain't been here in a while, but I definitely want to start getting some more work in so I can build up a better portfolio. I've read/seen some inspiring stuff in the portal and around NG in general lately, so I am trying to experiment more, and so far it has been pretty fun!

This is a turtle. I don't know if I like the brain/flowery thing in the head, but I put it in there and then did the shell, so its kinda iffy to get rid of at the moment, but I might keep it.

HOLY EPIC BUMP!

I rarely do self-portraits, but I needed to spend more than 15 mins on something today, like I had been in the "guess who" thread. So here I am, in caricatured form! I might work on it a bit more, but this is definitely it for tonight. Comments and crit is always welcome! :p

It's like someone told me to get my ass back in gear or something isn't it? XD

Anyways, I found this stampede buried in my unfinished folder, but i doubt I'll work on it any more. Low quality FTL!

I have to say, the shading needs more work and I recommend using a variety of thickness in lines. Plus there's something weird looking with the face, I can't just lay my finger on it. Yup, needs more practicing.

All I really have time for during the week is sketching on my lunch hour, and I usually draw one thing for like 5 minutes, hate it, and give up. I finished a few though, here's a cat with a monocle.

hmm i also never put any of my old sketches in here, just used them for a thread, so I'll post a few of my favorites.

And no, I have no idea why I enjoy drawing things in suits/ with top hats and monocles. Kinda weird I know.
