Hello everyone. I am deathfist. I've only been on the portal since sometime in 02, but I think what I am proposing can be of some service(I hope) to the portal. You see, I think that too many reviews on the portal needlessly slam authors. I agree that shitty flash should be treated as such but I for one think that taking the time to write a well thought out review to address things in a portal entry can only help the portal as with the necessary feedback an author can greatly improve his work. Instead I see so many reviews that are just needless slams and advertisements. When a flash pisses me off, I voice the anger but some people just go too far. I think everyone here knows what I'm getting at so I won't keep harping on it. Basically I am just calling all people who are willing to write well thought out reviews to join me and help me. I welcome all who are willing to assist authors in the portal by submitting useful reviews. Basically, treating others as you would want to be treated. And this call to arms goes to all auras; light, dark, and neutral. For all practical purposes this organization is neutral, but it's members can be what they please. Blamming is not a bad thing if done right(ie; BLAM Club). I am calling this crew Project: WEAPON as I view this organization as a weapon to stop the oppression of quality flash via fair voting and quality reviewing. This applies to audio portal too!! If intersted(or you just have suggestions or comments) please use this thread. As of now the only criterion you need to join(And I don't wanna turn people away like I'm the top of the shit pile, I just think some quality standards are a good idea.) is to be a quality reviewer. Please express interest and then I will decide. After the project gets 15-20 members, then we will decide amongst ourselves who will be the hierarchy(decision makers). Normal procedure would state that my place is automatically cemented; not true. I will be making the decisions only until this time. Then I will be subject to the same chance as us all. Until then, one rule: be honorable in voting and reviewing. Your votes are your business, but abusive reviews are grounds for termination if done repeatedly(But we all have our bad days, so a fuck up here and there ain't a big deal.). Lastly, don't think of me as a leader now or any member of the hierarchy later on down the road. We are all equals, we just need some type of authority. I apologize for speaking at length but I felt this was important. Also, I don't mind making a small webpage but it'll be from template if I do so anyone who can at least halfass a webpage is welcome. sorry, but i forgot to say something in my manifesto. don't think of the Project as your typical club or crew. many of you are loyal to the blood to your crew or club; that is an honorable trait. that's why i didn't want to call it a club or crew(yea, i know the thread subject has "new crew" in it. i'm new at this.). this is just a group of people who's affiliation is to the portal, whether you be in a club or crew. if you do join, please don't be shy to state you are a WEAPON.

skirch101, thank you. i really could use some assistance getting people involved on this so just tell other ng users you know. if we team up together and come up with ideas to help animators we can do a lot of good. of course, destroying a few hundred shitty submissions is gonna happen too.

well, it's not really like blam club. i could give a fuck how anyone votes. it's the abusive reviews that are annoying. dark aura, light aura... no difference to me. as far as targeting anything goes, that's not really an aim except if we find something shitty we blam it and if it's good we protect it. the main thing i would like to see is just more civility.
i thought about it a little bit and here's a condensed version of our purpose. we want to be known as the ng users who put the most effort into writing helpful reviews. if a flash sucks, then it's not "this sucks ass", it's "this sucks ass because". and if we spot an abusive reviewer, then report it here and then we will all find their reviews and click the abusive button on them. the way that'll work is after one person reports it another person should check that review and then post back. after 2 people say this guy's an asshole, we fuck his/her shit up. now i know not all of you have said outright you wanna join up, but i have numbers for you anyhow. you don't wanna, fine. i appreciate the interest.

Well, I do usually what your goal is. I do give a review and why I like it or why I don't , (mostly). Sometimes I'm not fair though so I admit it. But, I follow your code of review and I appreciate whay your trying to achieve. Good Luck on your success. I'll do my share of responsiblity.
So i understand the point, but do i just go around giving positive critism reveiws to everything, because some ppl just put crap in the portal for the hell of it.
For these cases dont waste your time reveiwing them, just BLAM.

well, first step is to find a movie and review it after viewing it. you have multiple objectives here. a) review the movie in as helpful of a way possible.
b) read the rest of the reviews to find any abusive reviews.
c) post the names of the abusive reviewers and what flash you found them at in this thread. after that we all click the "abusive" button on their profile. i don't know how stiff a penalty that deals out for the offender, but it'll be good enough for me. that's about it. that and we sit around and bullshit with each other like the rest of the groups here.
