They did like two laps around the ring. It's funny that I remember the main event and the opening bout which was between Al Snow and Goldust (Snow lost, then argued with Head for a while in a very funny moment) and nothing else. Still, it was a great time.

A dude who used to post here used to say "Fuck the faces; Hazzah for heels" Stone Cold started out as a heel as did HHH. Heels can be cool.

I know! I love heels. It's just...well, let's just say, the Straight-Edge Hillbilly(seriously Punk, shave your chest or something)is an insult to heels. Especially Randy Orton. Punk makes Randy look terrible.

I think creative and Randy have done a good job of that by themselves. I think Randy has learned some really bad habits in terms of his work and character that have held him back from reaching the potential he showed in 2004 in that feud with Mic Foley.

Also, on the topic of CM Punk...was his ring name always CM Punk? Even in ROH?

Yes, I have footage of Punk from pretty much the beginning of his in-ring career and he is one of the few performers that has always worked under the same ring name and gimmick. He has always been CM Punk, and has always primarily been a heel based around the idea that being straight edge makes him better then everyone else.

Here is an interesting interview with RVD. He talks about the new ECW and how it was such a huge letdown/ You can read it here.

Speaking of that, I do think they have done better in making the ECW belt worth something. The title defense Christian and Regal had was awesome.

Pretty much echoes everything I read about it at the time and lived through. WWE pissed so much money away on that whole thing and could be getting so much more from that brand then they do.

Speaking of that, I do think they have done better in making the ECW belt worth something. The title defense Christian and Regal had was awesome.

It's a developmental show now. It's purpose is to get guys ready for RAW and SD! at this point. So yeah, it is what it is, they have no interest in making that title worth anything really.

SD was good last night. Jericho and Undertaker has a really great match, so I expect that when they go at in on PPV it will be even better. I'm suprised Jericho got so much offense in, it was really an even match for most of it.

Ziggler/Morrison was great too. Shame they ended it with a double count out, but I understand why. To me it is only a matter of time before Ziggler gets the IC title.

Anyone else laugh when Batista got flipped over?

"They beat RVD on that show because they knew I stood for that Extreme style and fought for it.

They wanted to squash that whole idea and make Bobby Lashley the new face of ECW."

Wow. They really killed ECW... I noticed that it got lame when I started watching wrestling again, and a huge part of that was because the originals weren't there anymore. Except Dreamer. I haven't watched ECW in a while but I know every time something is "ECW" related on Raw or SD, maybe ECW vs. either brand for a night, they always send out Dreamer.

What really bothers me is I can't remember when RVD left. The last match I saw him in was him vs. Randy Orton. Randy DDT'd him off the ropes and he had this sort of seizure, he was foaming at the mouth and they ended the match. But prior to this hit, he was knocked off the top rope into the corner of the wall barrier. And the one before that was when John Cena went to ECW and they started throwing stuff at Cena. These matches are pretty old, and I don't recall when he really left but I do remember noticing he was gone.

A bit too much.

McMahon said that when he opens his arms(you know, in the ring entrance), it was too inviting to fans. Is that what you're talking about?

No, I mean the lame, monotone slow promos. I mean the slow, deliberate matches. Shit like getting a chinlock on and holding it for like 5 minutes. I don't mean working it for five, I mean just putting on the hold and then basically sitting there for five minutes doing nothing. Randy could be a lot better then he is, but a combination of the character they've tried to create for him and I think some of the arrogance and laziness that is apparently part of Randy's personality have really stifled him a bit and held him back.

You...have footage...
I don't know how to feel about that. >_>

Wrestling DVD's. Dating back to his time in Mid-American Wrestling in the mid-west. I would like to find a tape of that AWA match he mentioned where he and Colt Cabana competed in an all Doink battle royal. That sounds funny as fuck.

I know! Tiny Hands is AWESOME.

I know, so much better, I agree. :)

I agree. Don't let this stuff invade your dreams like that. Its a show. All good stuff needs a hero and a villian. Punk just happens to be a fun villan to watch. In the end good will prevail but the journey sure is fun to get through.

Piper should be a good host tomorrow. That big tag main event looks to be good too. It will be interesting to see Cena and Taker work as a team.

Still haven't gotten around to watching the last RAW...........yes, I know I'm getting lazy... >_<

I forgot how much I liked that song they're using for SS this year. It's a bit odd, though, that they're using something that's 2 years old for it, when older songs are usually just for special occasions, like WM 25.

CUE THE BAGPIPES, DAMMIT!!!!!!! Roddy never gets old. :P

I read the 2nd part of the interview; can't blame him for wanting high demands after being put through the ringer for so long.

Also read the Paul Heyman interview; glad to hear he's come out of hiding. Read it, damn you.

Wait, last night's Raw was... good?!
About time. If WWE builds off this Raw then the brand may become good once more. Last night's episode was ace, marked for a lot of stuff. Here's hoping Raw keeps this momentum and puts on more shows like this.

Plus MATT FUCKING STRIKER ON RAW. Twice the commentator Cole has been and ever will be.

I got to say, I think that was the best Raw all year. When Hornswoggle screwed chavo for 32334325th time my hopes for a decent episode were crushed, but seeing that little guy et pedigree'd made them sky rocket. That was classic. You didn't get a super kick Outlaw, but I hope that was satisfying for you.

I'm not a fan of the brawl scenarios, but Kofi and Orton going at it was great. They both made the other guy look strong. (for the most part) That is how you work a feud before a PPV. Shame that they waited until the last minute to do it. Still, I'm excited to see more singles matches between the two in the future. Which reminds me, what was up with the late cue for Kofi? It was awkward.

Piper's segment with Vince was great. Piper listing off his injuries was one of the best segments I've ever seen.

And ending with Undertaker holding the belt in the ring with everyone out of commission. I can't think of a better way to end a show.

I am a new terror born in death, a new superstition entering the unassailable fortress of forever. I am legend.

Indeed it was. When they were setting him up to do the pose, I knew/hoped something was up, and seeing him get the pedigree made me mark out. I hope he stays away fro a while. I was tired of him messign with Chavo months ago, so now I hope everyone can move on from this.

Their brawl was really helped make the night. I am so glad WWE is giving Kofi a decent push with one of their top guys. As long as his team doesn't get squashed at the PPV, the momentum he is getting could really help establish Kofi as an upper level guy, something WWE needs.

I think age is really catching up with the hot rod as he seemed more incoherent to me. Still it was a great segment when he called Vince out.

Agreed 100%. Raw was great last night and I'm happy with what went down. Striker did a great job on commentary and worked suprisingly well with Cole. I guess King will get his yearly match sometime down the road since "Pale and Red" nearly kicked his head off.

Last night was the first I caught ECW in awhile (I tuned in for the Burchill/Hurricane match) I really hope they send Burchill to SD! after this. The guy has a lot of potential and obvious in-ring talent. Katie Lea is also nice to look at too so I would love to see them really get a chance. Perhaps a team with Drew McIntyre could help them? Or just simply actually treat them with some respect. I just keep going back to him getting that Pirate gimmick over and seriously, how many people honestly could have done that?

This 100%. I'm praying that losing to Hurricane is just an excuse for Burchill to go and be awesome on Smackdown instead rather than just ending in getting future endeavour'd, and I like your concept of a Burchill/McIntyre team. With Katie Lea as their manager like Natalya is for Tyson and DH, we could get an interesting dynamic on Smackdown. And by that I mean no more in the Cryme Tyme/Hart Dynasty Best of 589 Series for starters.

I just keep going back to him getting that Pirate gimmick over and seriously, how many people honestly could have done that?

I miss Pirate Burchill, used to play as him so much on SvR'06 back in the day :(

Pirate Paul was a fun gimmick. I doubt he'd go back to it though. I do hope they put him on SD as his talent could really be utilized there.

It was good seeing Punk on ECW again, his teaming with Regal was good as they seemed to work well together and this helped them get some momentum going into the PPV.

One thing that pissed me off though. Tiffany saying that Punk wasn't human becase he doesn't drink. Look I get it that Punk is a heel and being straigt edge is now uncool in the eyes of the WWE but come on. I don't drink either so to hell with you, worst speaker on T.V. ever Tiffany.

I FINALLY got around to watching RAW............WOW.

Kofi has sealed his status in the big leagues in just one night. When he first showed up, I wasn't sure he'd advance beyond the mid-card, and BOOOOOOOOY WAS I MISTAKEN. I don't think I've ever seen Randy get beaten up that badly before - and all while still looking strong at the same time.

Awesomeness.

The Roddy segments were all good, too...........although I see Chris Masters' 'pec-formance' bit getting old REEEEEEAL fast. It was funny the first time w/ Ozzy, but it's already beginning to go south.

It's especially stupid when you consider how WWE has been pushing their product is TV PG and they're going after kids again. I mean, shouldn't the point of Punk's gimmick at this point be that his ideals are admirable, but nobody likes a preachy self-righteous ass? It's a lot like what I thought was a bit stupid on ROH commentary when they'd sit there and be like "he looks down on you if you're drinking a beer or smoking a bowl while watching this" and it's like "uh, shouldn't we NOT be promoting illegal activity?" but considering the audience they market to, it's not as big a stupid as what Tiffany said last night, yeah.

Thats a very good point. Didn't Hogan used to tell kids to stay away from drugs during the 80's? The WWE needs to understand that there is line that they shouldn't cross with this kind of material. Punk is doing a good job in his role by acting like he is better than the audience but they also need to remember that they shouldn't fight him on the point of doing drugs. His attitude should be the problem, not the fact that he doesn't drink or smoke or do any of that other stuff.

I watched ECW. First off...MAN HUG. PEACE SIGN. WHAT IS WRONG WITH REGAL AND PUNK.

Now that that's off my chest, Christian was really funny. *snicker* Nerd.

Anyone else notice how Punk thrashed around when R-Truth poured all that...druggy stuff...on him? I laughed. And I laughed at how Punk cried. I mean, I feel sorry for Phillip, but I laugh at Punk's pain. Also, I keep dreaming about Punk getting hurt. Last night he got attacked by a giant squid. Again. Please help.

*snicker* Nerd.

Let's also consider all the problems WWE has had with guys dying of drug overdoses and guys like Jeff who repeatedly get busted. With Linda running for Senate and her opponents already digging up WWE footage to attack her values, it wouldn't be that hard or that stupid of them to dig up clips like Tuesday and go "see, see, they're ridiculing a guy who follows the rules and doesn't do anything wrong as nerdish and wrong to kids!!!" But I know, expecting WWE to think is the first mistake.

I expect to see Teddy have a breakdown at some point....... :(

Morrison is still champ, in what was yet another good match - but when AREN'T matches with him good?

Jericho looks more & more like a complete pussy.

Rey=2, Batista=0. It's always fun to see a short, fast guy make a big, tough guy look stupid. :P

Unfortunately, the end result of the 'intervention' segment on SD only makes things worse. I'm actually feeling sorry for Punk now - a rarity for me regarding most heels.

Please don't say the name 'Jeff'. He actually scares me a little now. *shudder*

With Linda running for Senate

Who?

Nerd.
God, I can't wait to say that to Punk's face at the SmackDown! thing.
"Hey, can I have your autograph, nerd?"

True. The Hairdo With Abs is awesome. I mean...oh god. I hate the Miz now. Because of him, I forgot all other words but awesome.

Yep.

I don't feel sorry for Punk. I feel sorry for Phillip, 'cause he's probably hurting right now, but...*snicker* Punk was crying. Seriously, he was. Look at the footage. You can clearly see a tear. :D

All aboard the PPV Train, it's time for The D-Lucks Survivor Series Predictions! As you should know by now, winners in bold, match types/stips in italics. Let's do this shit.

1. Team Mickie (Mickie James, Eve, Kelly Kelly, Melina & Gail Kim) vs Team Michelle (Michelle McCool, Beth Phoenix, Layla, Alicia Fox & Jillian) (Traditional SS Elimination Match)

To be honest, I could care less for this match this time. I may well be surprised, but I'm not expecting anything that great other than the possibility of Beth smashing some of Mickie's team around. That said, I'm not really that fussed as to who wins, but I'm going to go with Team McCool. As long as they don't do the whole "Kelly, Melina and Gail lost at Bragging Rights so let's have them win here" thing, things should go alright.
...Ok, fine, I just want to see Beth smash them around, is that so wrong? As far as eliminations go, I reckon McCool and Beth will be the Survivors for their team, with either Mickie or Melina being last to go on their team.
So yeah, Team McCool to win. Just, y'know, because.

2. Rey Mysterio vs Batista (YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE MY FWIEEEEEEND Match)

Two words, folks: knee surgery. Guess who needs it (allegedly anyway)? Yup, Rey Rey. So, if true, really this match is pretty much a given at this point. Dave kayfabe injures Rey in the match, Dave goes and makes Matt Hardy job to him some more whilst Rey gets his knees done. Lovely. Well, apart from the Matt jobbing part.
As for the finish? Well if Dave's meant to be 'taking Rey out of action' then I'm guessing it won't just be a pinfall. Referee Stoppage? As far as I can recall it's No-DQ after that contract they signed, so I'm assuming Dave just beats Rey down until he doesn't move anymore. To put it one way.
So Batista to win. Oh and Dave, take out that fucking nose jewellery, you look a complete nonce.

3. Team Morrison (John Morrison, Evan Bourne, Matt Hardy, Shelton Benjamin & Finlay) vs Team Miz (The Miz, Jack Swagger, Sheamus, Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler) (Traditional SS Elimination Match)

I hate to make this prediction in favour of Team Morrison, as when I saw who was included on Team Miz for the first time I marked oh so very hard. There's not one member on Team Miz that I don't mark for. So it saddens me that all signs point to them losing tonight. Firstly, Morrison lost to Miz at the last PPV and needs a notch over Miz. And secondly, there's that whole "Miz and Swagger can't co-exist" angle that's going on on Raw these days. So with that all in mind, unfortunately my beloved Team Miz is likely going in the 'L' column tonight. As far as eliminations go, I'm hoping Sheamus and McIntyre get at least 1 elimination as they should preferably look strong here. Swagger will probably screw over Miz (he wants him some US title after all), leading to Miz getting eliminated by Morrison or something. I'm guessing Team JoMo's survivors will be Morrison and either Finlay or Shelton.
So yeah, Team JoMo to win tonight.

4. Team Kingston a.k.a. Team Spot the Odd One Out (Kofi Kingston, MVP, Mark Henry, Christian & R-Truth) vs Team Orton (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, CM Punk & William Regal) (Traditional SS Elimination Match)

Simply put, Kofi is riding a huge wave of momentum into the main event level right now. Surely it would be all wasted in Kofi lost to Orton tonight? It doesn't matter so much if Kofi loses to Orton, say, at the next PPV, but for now I feel that Kofi should get the first win to show how he could hang with the boys at the top of the card (although that brawl with Orton on Raw was fantastic).
Pretty simple really, I don't see Kofi and his team losing tonight and if they do, it won't be clean. Orton and Co. winning through heel shenanigans is the only way I would be ok with the Nation of Kofination (complete with Christian Hart) losing. As for eliminations, I'm assuming Orton will be last so he can be hit with a shit-ton of finishers á la Survivor Series '06. Survivors I'm guessing will be Kofi and Christian, and maybe Mark Henry.
So Team Jamaican Me Lose My Accent to win.

5. WWE Champion John Cena vs Triple H vs Shawn Michaels (Triple Threat 'Another Combo of the Same 5' Match)

Ok, as much as I marked for Haitch Pedigreeing Hornswoggle on the MSG Raw, if that fucking midget shows his face in this match I will place my head through a wall.
Unfortunately, I can really see it happening... God damn it. Heelswoggle appears, distracts HHH/HBK, gets rolled up by Cena, ding ding ding. Hopefully the match will be decent enough until that point, otherwise it'll just be a whole other level of disappointment. God, Raw really does need fresh faces in the championship scene, and I don't mean that of a bloody leprechaun.
Oh well, at least it's not Cena/Orton #640.
And honestly, that's all I've got to say. I just don't care much for this match, is all. I don't see either of DX winning unless we get HHH/HBK at 'Mania... actually that could happen. Fuck it though, not changing my mind now.
Cena to win, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. Blah, next please.

6. World Heavyweight Champion Undertaker vs Chris Jericho vs Big Show (Triple Threat 'Omg Jeri-Show could Implode Omgomg' Match)

Ok, let's weigh up our options. Numero Uno: Big Show. Simply put: lolno.
Numero Dos: Jericho. Could happen. Wouldn't be agitated at all if it did really. They've been teasing Jeri-Show's break up for ages now and if it should happen through Jericho being champ once more I wouldn't complain much. The only problem is, stripping 'Taker of the title in this match would leave him pretty much directionless.
So that's why I just can't see Undertaker losing the title tonight. Whether he loses the title before WrestleMania I don't know; I hope he does, but I don't think it'll be tonight.
Of course, we COULD see Jericho turn on Show/Show turn on Jericho after they've lost the match, but then they'd have to rush a scenario to get the Tag belts off of them.
Plus I wish they'd kept off Jericho/Taker until 'Mania. I would've liked their first singles confrontation to be more special than just a Smackdown main event. :(
But back to the here and now, like DX I don't see one member of the team winning tonight as it would leave the Deadman with no direction.
Undertaker to retain.

--------------

And that's all. Shorter predictions this time but hey, only six matches after all.
Any thoughts on my humble predictions, gentlemen?
