Its something SD needed too. More than likely when Edge does come back he will probably be welcomed as a face. He has a ready made fued with Jericho for his return. I hope Punk is able to hold onto the belt long enough for him to have a fued with some of the other faces on SD.

They can't possibly have Punk drop the title so quickly (Which would just kill his momentum!), and there's no way I can't see Punk actually making Taker tap.

I'm thinking we might have either Taker or Punk pass out in the other's respective hold, which would end the match, but keep the title on Punk.

I've been wondering this. Punk has just come off a hot feud with Hardy, and needs to keep momentum to truly establish himself, and Taker has just returned. Neither man can realistically afford to lose.

Maybe Matt will interfere, and give us a DQ finish. Do submission matches allow DQs?

Wouldn't that ending result in a loss for the person who passed out. They raise the arm three times and if they aren't able to hold it up they lose. Counts as a submission and the title can change hands in that way.

I would say its more likely that either both men tap at the same time, goes to a hell in a cell match at the next PPV where Undertaker wins and goes on to feud with Kane for the title.

That was his last match before the suspension. He had to drop the title some how. So we won't see Rey again until October.

That's what I'm thinking, Punk takes a shortcut somehow and Taker either passes out from blood loss, or pain, or he just knocks Taker out and slaps on the hold and the match is called based on that. Taking the title off of Punk right now would be absolutely insane.

I don't know why I'm even replying to this, booking like this would be the kind of thing that continues to hinder and ruin talent and the industry. At some point you have to let the young lions run with the ball and stop looking to the older guys that won't be around in a few years. The future is now. You want matches like the one you outlined above? Pop in a Taker DVD buddy, they're loaded with them.

Uh huh, but it's been pretty well proven the only show he truly cares about is RAW. RAW is the show he demands massive and seemingly infinite rewrites for even up to just before show time. The other two he tends to leave alone. So that's where I feel confident in treating SD!, ECW, and RAW like almost seperate entities.

It's not just me being a Punk mark, it's me being a mark for the business in general and wanting to see what I believe to be good wrestling and a strong and healthy business. Doing matches from 10 years ago with performers that are now 10 years older doesn't make for a healthy business. Casual fans want something new, not a retread of 10 years ago, and I think a lot of the hardcores do as well. Retreads aren't going to help anything and it just wastes time and degrades the careers of the young guys whose time is truly now. I'm over nostalgia, I'm still a mark for guys like Taker, but that doesn't mean I want him at the top of the card if it doesn't really serve any purpose.

I'm not high on absolutely everything on SD! I agree the divas storyline is pretty well crap, and I think that is absolutely a concession they make to Vince's style of storytelling. I at first thought this might be something where Maria and Ziggler would be like Savage and Liz back when Savage was a heel in the early 80's in how he basically would mistreat Liz and she would take it with class and the fans would root for her to finally get sick of it and leave him. But in this case you wouldn't even know Ziggler and Maria are dating except for the fact that Melina keeps bringing it up all the friggin time. It's a bad storyline without question, I also don't like Khali/Kane because it's too big stiffs I tend not to care about feuding. There's better uses for Kane then this.

But you know, I only have like 2 things to complain about on SD!, where I have a world champion that is entertaining and having great feuds with established veterans to help him approve and cement his status. I have good undercard feuds and matches for the IC title and just over personal issues. RAW is unfunny DX skits, boring Orton promos and matches. John Cena continuing to try and be the new Hulk Hogan and failing miserably. The US title not pushed, and a lot of matches that just seem to be out there to fill time...oh and the completely hit or miss guest host gimmick.

I grant it's about what one likes and what one doesn't, to me and many others Smackdown! is what we want in a wrestling show and RAW just absolutely isn't.

TLC Matches, and Hell in a Cell matches are supposed to be rare gimmick matches that are only reserved for BIG feuds. Now we're going to get a PPV where at least two matches will be HIAC, and another one were at least two matches will be held TLC... It makes the stipulations lose some of its luster.

On a totally different note, if anyone happens to come across a PPV from a company called Dragon Gate (The show's called Enter The Dragon), then I suggest you order it. It might be the best pro wrestling PPV this year.

I know vince wants to give each ppv it's own thing, but i'm not sure about replacing so meny of them though. I'm just worried that they will take them to seriously and have the theme control more then it should and influence the feud's. I don't think this will go well in the long run, i hope this plays out for the better >->

Also they should try to be somewhat creative about the naming. Like ok, Breaking Point is submission matches in the main event, but they didn't call it "submission match". No Way Out is double elimination chambers, but again, isn't called "elimination chamber". I don't really even see why No Mercy or Armageddon had to be dropped as names.

I think that they're planning to make the Hell in a Cell and TLC matches exclusive to the pay per views that are named after them. Keeping them rare by using them once a year at those events. Which is stupid because they just had a TLC match at Summerslam. And sorry to go off topic, but I posted some WWE comedy that I wrote on my blog, if anyones interested.

Which is a problem I forsee happening myself. If you're going to have a PPV for HIAC, then how do you use that match on any other PPV? You really shouldn't because it'll dilute your main show with that as the gimmick. Ditto the others. I have heard rumblings though WWE is looking to scale back the number of PPV's they do. Which is fine and I think if you're going to gimmick up the B-Shows then it's necessary....but again, let's say we cut it back to only one show a month, and every show is gimmicked, I still think you're in the shit come shows like Mania or SS. Mania at least has the name, has the two gimmicks of Taker's streak match (for now) and MITB. SS has no inherent gimmick hook. Survivor Series has it's team elimination gimmick, Rumble has the battle royal. I still think there's a good chance though of burning out these gimmick bouts and WWE will either be forced to come up with new ideas, or really really improve just straight up match quality. Going to be interesting going forward.

I like how they snuck The Masterpiece in after not using him for a while...It was cute how they thought no one would notice. Wow, in Cena vs Rhodes it kind of looked like they were booking Cody to appear competent. It was a decent match.

I hate AJ Pierzyncski. He wasn't what ruined the show for me though. No US Title time is what did it. But hey, this is the last show before the PPV, no time for a second hand belt. It isn't like we have a phenomenal super star with the belt and numerous contenders.

I missed Raw on Monday. How did Barker do as a host? Was it as awkward as I imagine?

ECW was great last night. It featured some decent matches that I really enjoyed. The opening bout between Hurricane and Burchil was a solid match. Both guys got some impressive offense in. I also enjoyed the two tag matches. Dreamer and Christian seem to work well as a team despite them losing.

So Trish is going to be the next host huh? Man, now that I think about it, she is one of those people I miss seeing each week.

We also found out that Batista returns. I guess he'll be put right into the main event against Orton so that they can pick up where they left off. I just hope he doesn't get hurt again.
