Yes, as Bush says at 2:03, "We are all knowing and all powerful."

To many of you guys honestly give the USA to much credit. Did it ever occur to any of you Saddam was using America just as bad as America was using him? Much like the only reason Vietnamese nationalists used Soviet Russia and became communist in name was because it suited there purposes. Ho Chi Minh was never a communist, he was a nationalist looking for a rich sponsor to support his nationalist aims, which he found in the USSR. Saddam was never a puppet of the USA, the man was to wily and ambitious for that.

I pity you idiots who say "saddam was evil hope he burns in hell blah blah"..

You should save that pity for those who actually deserve it, like you and your simpleminded self.

So, the "surgical bombing" that seemed to be implying you perform surgery with a butcher knife or, better yet, a giant club on Iraqi cities for several months had nothing to do with it?

Please, work this out for yourself: one terrorist bomb would kill, at most, 40 people in one go, and often less than that - and many of those killed would, of course, be non-Iraqi troops, which is why the bomb was put there. A sustained bombing raid on a city with a population of just under 6m (which Baghdad has)with no real target apart from the city below, meanwhile, can kill hundreds in one go.

In short, the majority of those Iraqis were KILLED BY AMERICANS AND THEIR ALLIES.

If that were the case, then I would merely say "kill them all". But since that isnt, I am justifying the work of troops who are stopping the rampant murder and RAPE, yes I said RAPE of innocent families. If you havent been over there than you can stfu retard. Dont tell me what has and has not been going on over there until you have seen it with your own two eyes like me.

You're implying that to kill them all is justified, as you already said they're shooting at you and that Iraqis and insurgents have killed a vast majority of Iraqis killed since 2003. That's bullshit, plain and simple, or at the very least, beyond ignorant. And, by the way, read this:
http://usa.mediamonitors.net/content/view/ful l/39271
Specifically this part: "Several incidents have also exposed American forces in rape cases, tortures, humiliations of religious places and materials, Iraqi family norms, violations of minimal human rights, Abu Ghraib, lootings of valuables and killings of Iraqi civilians in cars, homes, hospitals, markets, roads, buses and check-posts. There are many cases of missing Iraqis and unreported cases of arrests, tortures, rapes and murders inside Iraq."

You haven't been over to Iraq, and are demonstrating the qualities of retards that should shut their ignorant fucking mouths and talk about the current season of Lost as opposed to what's happening in the world.

Does it really matter I mean he is dead now all people can do is discuss what was behind it. Now if you really want to call it conspiracy go ahead but can you really call it that? Is it so hard to believe that Bush, the man in office who's own father had an assassionation attempt on, would not secretly want that motherfucker to hang?

lol, alright look here is how it all plays out, Saddam was given to the Iraqi's they put him on trial and the U.S. they "said" that execution now you probably shouldn't do that. Now the Iraqi's of course sentenced him to death.

So as it stands in the eyes of the public the U.S. was against his execution and the Iraqi's did it, but if your daddy was almost killed and then all the sudden your president your telling me you wouldn't want the motherfucker behind dead? Maybe it's just me but thats how I feel, an eye for an eye.

To put it simply. People have rights as long as they don't infringe on other people's right.

So to put it radically in this scenario. Everyone has the right happiness. If killing makes you happy, you have the right to go kill; at the same time, people have the right of happiness to live. Living makes me happy, so you can't infringe on my right to live by killing me. So if you kill someone, you infringe on their rights to which is immoral and illegal in most places and punishable by law.

Then there's the crap that's flowing from the Iraqi PM today: "We will review our relationship with any country that criticises the hanging."

Not quite as snappy as "You're either with us or against us", but let's face it, there's a common thread in the source of both quotes. Oh, and by "reviewing" their relationship with the UK, does that mean Bush's only ally of note will be told to leave the country, never to return? Or, to put it another way, precisely what the people of Britain want?

My conspiracy theory: what if the leftist media fabricated all this molarchy about a Sunni(I'm not sure how it's spelt ploral) uproar. When infact, they're just saying all this to prevent a case of capital punishment. Look at the Iraqis whom are right in the middle of the fray; they executed Saddam despite all the warning the media fed us, so they didn't think his execution would bring a civil war.

A life is a life and no one has the right to take them away yes, but he took thousands of lives away and the hanging was too quick of a death for him, he should've suffered with the highest amount of pain possible. Its equivalence though, If someone killed your brother or sister or any loved one, wouldn't you want to kill them? Its revenge and vengeance but also fair, a life for a life, you take something of mine I take something of yours. Its that simple but with something more valuable, a life.

I find it ironic how people decide that because someone had killed other people it becomes ok to kill them. If you have the person already contained, killing them is just as bad a sin as them killing another. Killing someone to stop them from killing more is different, because that implies they have a large capacity to kill others at that moment or will in the near future. People sentenced to death have neither and are harmless. Therefore that rule does not aplly. The killers of Saddam are as bad as Saddam.

Worse even, I don't think even Saddam made snuff videos of his killings, that's just sick. It's one thing to [legally] order the death of someone (or 150 people) who tried to assassinate you, it's something else to tape it so you can watch it over and over again with your family and friends later on.

The Iraqi's did. And that says something.

Not as simple as that - after all, when the new "Iraqi" Government were sworn in, they stated they were going to abolish the Death Penalty. One phonecall from Washington later, and they did a 180 on that stance remarkably quickly.

Once again, the verdict was decided before the court was in session.

Meanwhile, Saddam has had all charges of genocide dropped. So, what he should've been on trial for went ahead without him and no charges were brought - come on, surely posthumous charges can still be given, a la Hitler at Nuremberg? In short, the court has cleared him of genocide, so officially he was hung for the deaths of 148 people. Justice?

Menawhile, as stated here, Saddam was responsible for 200-500,000, which is still lower than the number of Iraqis killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom/Slaughterhouse.

So, yes, when are Bush and Blair going to get strung up?

Just to reiterate what D2K was talking about. The new Iraq gov has executed at least 60 people since restarting its executions in Sept 2005 (the entire USA executed 60 people in 2006) . According to AIUSA, the identities of some of those hanged have not been made public and the government gave no details of their trials (how Saddamish huh). Even the Iraq president Talabani is opposed to the death penalty, unfortunately his boss (Bush) is not. Considering the US is holding about 14,000 prisoners in Iraq, it's safe to say more executions will follow.

Because errors in justice are more than common, and politicians ar humans too, i think we should not give the right to kill to anyone. Saddam should have been in prison for life, not killed. Maybe he kind of deserved it you will say. But, would you give the power of taking lives to someone ? Would you ?

You're so right! We should have tortured him til' he lost his mind! Then we could dump him in the desert and se what kills him!

ill be straight out here. i hate almost all americans like 5 percent i like and they my friends. the rest i dont like because of there ignorance in trusting their government and their president.
sadam deserved to die but america had no right to invade iraq they just stay there to get oil dont be a flag kisser be realistic america is based on the constitution and bill of rights or something yet people hate some rights saying they are only supposed to mean something in those times but they are unintelligent in thinking that the rest can be translated to now. nothing should be based on old scrolls books and stuff ( except sun tzu the art of war and the confucius's writings cos they very wise and people dont base countrys on then but plans) i know i went off topic but i thought it was neccesary

He was far to dangerous to be kept in a cell, we'd probably need tons of troops just to surround the jail to keep saddam supporters from trying to blow the place up [ as they do with all other things that they want destroyed, they as in alqeda in iraq]

He's not worth being kept in a jail, top security jails are expensive for up-keep.

Well, America seems to think that it can take any life it pleases so I don't see what all the fuss is about. Anyway, this is Iraqi law. If you remember that parts of Texas still has the death sentence, and nobody complains about that.

My main concern at the moment is all the riots and protests that are currently taking place. Yet more lives will be taken.

So yes, I think it was a mistake to execute Saddam, but if the iraqi government itself doesn't go by their own laws is there really a government there?

Saddam was executed fairly and under the Iraqi court system. The United States and Americans were not involved in his actual execution and had no say in the matter, only the Iraqis did. They decided he needed to be executed, so he was. End of story.
