Hey guys! Yeah, I didn't die either. I moved almost two months ago, and it took them that f*in' long to wire the new place. Word to the wise (in Japan): If you're going to move, apply for intertron service WELL in advance. Bloody hell.

Anyway, I'll be posting my Star Wars thing soon. For now, I need to catch up on two months of non-intertron.

Good to be back!

Yes, you can.

Now let's see if we can manage to revive this club, at least for a brief period. This was a great club, who knows, it might yet acheive it's former glory.

Anyways, what RPGs have you played?

I recently bought a Nintendo DS Lite, which was sold out for over two months in the Greater Columbus area, and I'm over halfway through Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (which I've had since Boxing Day, 12/26/06). Technically, that's action/adventure, but what RPGs would you recommend for the DS?

I really am not much of a console player. In fact only consoles I've played games on are the NES and SNES.

Still, I know that remakes of classic Final Fantasy games are available for the DS. From what I hear, they didn't just port the games, they actualy remade them, meaning that they have better graphics, slightly revamped gameplay and so on. If you haven't played the games, or have and don't mind spending cash, get them.

FFXII has taken a bite out of my free time. Last night I tried a trick that somebody listed on the net... and it worked! I now have one of the most powerful (and cool looking) swords in the game; The Deathbringer. Two more of 'em and I'll be happy.

Long time no see Jack. I was wondering where this club went. Thought it might have suffered the same fate as Atlantis. Had the SAR Techs on standby. ^_~

I gave up on the series. Each new game is too much alike all others. I mean, sure, we get a new metrosexual of hero and a new badass sword. But take away the "amazing" design and you get the same basic gameplay.

Long time no see Jack.

Never thought that old members would just spring up once I post here.

Given the mega-ultra-high-tech place you work at, I wouldn't be surprised if that was true.

Sounds pretty cool. Is it a real RPG, like Baldur's Gate and such, where you get a world to roam around?

Heh. I've never played any of them.

My favorites are:

Fallout 1+2 - a post apocaliptic sandbox, brimming with allusions (note, allusions, not illusions) and a great sense of humor. Also, a rare trait for RPGs of this kind - different dying animationsfor different kinds of death.
Diablo 1+Hellfire - What got me interestedin RPGs in the first place.
Dianlo 2 + Lord of Destruction - Oh, countless hours upon sountless hours have I wasted battling the minions of Diabloe, Mephisto and Baal.
Arcanum - many similarities to Fallout, in terms of gameplay. The settings is very original, in that magic and technology are oposing each other. For example, if your character ahs a strong affiliation for technolo, he is unaffected by magic (harmful and helpful) and can't use magic items.
Baldur's Gate 2 - if you have the time and like lengthy intricate plots, this one is for you.

Come on people, me and Akatsuki can't keep this club alive by ourselves. Say something, even if it's not too interesting. Just keep the club on the first page enough to get new members.

Anyways, I installed Diablo 2 yesterday. And beat Diablo. Am I not awesome? Defeating Diablo in under a day, while taking the time to watch TV, burn at least 40 Gb on DVDs and general humdrum tasks.

Anyways, today I installed the exspansion pack, seeing as how it's much better suited for Skeleton Necromancers (necromancers who rely on summoning Skeletons). You see, in the original Diablo, whenever you leave the game or go to another act you lose all your summoned skeletons, golems and mercenaries. This means that if I want to make myself some new skeletons in say, act 4, I have to kill monsters and use heir corpses to summon skeletons. Problem is, my character completely relies on his skeletons to do so. Killing even one monster in later acts is completely beyond his power.

In the expansion I simply kill some weakling monsters in act 1, ressurect them as skeletons and then with this fighting force teleport to later acts. Piece of cake.

Hard to believe this is still around. Even more surprising that some of the same people are still around. If any of you are interested in having some fun in an online Action/RPG I run let me know. You don't need a super computer, though your specs should be somewhat decent.

Where were you like a week or two ago. Believe me, I'd love to join but I am drafted in two days. That's righyt folks, on this Sunday I become a real tankman of the IDF Armoured Corpses.

Anyways, I will only be able to go on-line weekly, at best. prbably I will only get on avery two-three weeks. Meaning that if your RPGs takes better dedication than that, I won't be able to play it.

What is with nearly all the european people I know having some kind of mandatory military service. Wars are so 20th century, guys, let's move on ^_^. Anyway, I was talking about a Lineage 2 emulated server. I've had nearly 3 years of experience with it now and if anyone is curious I am currently writing an updated guide (info on almost all sites is outdated). This is emulated software and therefore perfectly legal, so no worries.

Oh, and anyone decent with creating web sites would be helpful.

First off, just in case you didn't know, I don't live in Europe. Second, European contries are just smaller (by a whole lot) than the USA, meaning that if they can't count on enough people to enlist of their own free will. See, 10% of Americas population make 30 millions! That's one eighth of Germany's population.

And I'll look into this game. Hope it's good.

In case you didn't know, I'm not american ;). Canada is also large, though less populated and not filthy rich. As for the game, as I said most info you'll find is probably outdated, and you need to keep in mind that my particular server has characteristics of it's own. I'm still writing up my guide, but I really wish I had a site to put it on. Hoping to see some more of the veterans around here. Oh, and trust me, the game has kept me interested for 3 years, it's really very fun if played with enough of the right people.

At least you didn't lose your alias. I thought you split from the program ages ago redruM, but then again I haven't been around much myself (even my voting has slipped). I noticed your sig was made by somebody called Pure_Greatness. That wouldn't be the same user known as Pure_LionHeart, would it?

Nah, have you forgotten who Pure_Greatness was? My rl friend who used to hang around here and in the Wi/Ht? forums. He's been pretty inactive for some time now as well, though he's kept more up to date on the site and browsed the forums from time to time, unlike me. The sig was made long ago while both of us were still active. I should probably update some of my shiz if I plan to hang around here any, but at least for the moment I can't be bothered. Glad you're still around, Recon. Oh, and what a shiny axe you have!

Your "rl" friend? I remember the alias well enough redruM, just wasn't sure about the owner. With all the name changes in the past it could've been anyone.

Ever played a PC game called Age of Empires III? Welcome to my nightmare. That game has caused me to lose more sleep than all my years in the military (well, maybe not but it sure feels like it). I averaged around 2 to 3 hours of sack time per night last week. The good news is the novelty seems to be wearing off so this shallow state of non-ordinary reality should be gone soon. >_<

Glad you're still around, Recon.

Thanks buddy, it's nice to see you too.

Red, what server do you play on? Maybe you can provide a link or some such.

Recon, in which military did you serve (as in which country's military)? And what was your task, job or however you call it? You didn't happen to be in a tank brigade, did you?

I believe he also went by ManweSulimo or something like that at one point as well, but it doesn't really matter.

Played AoE 2 but not 3, I don't meet the requirements. I remember reading about it some time ago though, and it did sound pretty good. Graphics were a huge improvement, also. I know what you mean though, Lineage 2 was a huge time sink for me for quite some time.

My own server. Can't really give you a link because I don't have a site up yet, but all you need to do is download and install the Chronicle 5 client and make a little change to your hosts file. All I really have right now is an irc channel: #MobL2 on irc.deltaanime.net.

As I was saying, the client can be downloaded here, then you have only to open your hosts file (located at C:/windows/system32/drivers/etc) in any text editor and add the line: 24.78.215.183 L2authd.lineage2.com at the bottom. Make sure it gets saved as the same format and don't accidentally make a new one as a text file. Then you're ready to join in on the fun!

Ah yes, the days of frequent nick changes. Hopefully my current nick is somewhat more memorable. I'm still fairly active, I just don't bother posting all that often. It's definitely nice to see some activity around here though. If anyone is considering Lineage II, it's a very fun game given the right circumstances. When you have a decent amount of people playing, and a well maintained server, then you can take advantage of some great PVP, boss raids, castle sieges and the like. Just figured I would put my two cents in since redruM mentioned it. Oh, and I remember Pure_Lionheart; he moved most of his whoring over to Retrogade along with you, huh Recon? : P
