I can not believe how hard it is to teach this guy some basic French. But oh well I thought I would say happy holidays and hello.
Can't French people speak English? Or are they just being stubborn.

Most ly yes but my grandparents will not hear of it. My mother on the other hand is fluent in English, seeing as my father was an Englishman.

English is a German Language just like Belgian. French is a Roman one just like Italian. It's pretty difficuilt to learn English when you're French and vice versa!

English is a Germanic language, yes, but at least half of the vocabulary comes from Latin. But you are right that that would cause problems.
And since when was there a Belgian language? Belgians speak Dutch, French, and/or German. And French is definately difficult to learn from English and vice versa, probably in part because of how bizarre the pronounciations are and the lack of rules they both share.

True, but that doesn't make learning French any easier, once you've learned how to speak Italian.
I've been living in Italy for the past 10 years or so, and I've always failed at French oral and written tests :(

Yeah, I`ve never met\talked to any French people who know English.
I`ve never met any Germans that know English neither...

Yeah, I meant dutch... i couldn't come up with the word. XD XD XD
There is only a tiny part of Belgium speaking german, and personally, I feel Wallonië
(speaks French) doesn't belong a 100% to Belgium. They never really did something HUGE!
