fake or real Bowser in SMB?

A part of human population say's they are real in every castle.
A part say's they are decoy's (t'ill world 8 in his big castle).

I never had a manual of SMB (bought it from E-bay).So....What do you think:

I say false.

First off, in the original game he wasn't Bowser, he was King Koopa. I don't know about you, but I think he's a completely different person(?) than Bowser.

Secondly, everytime you kill him with fireballs he becomes a different badguy. Maybe that's just a sign that they were hiding in a King Koopa suit or something.

Third... well, I don't have a third, but damnit it always pissed me off when they were all "The Princess is in another castle!"

WHY do those bastard little toad-people always feel the need to make Mario run all the way to the castle for NOTHING!?

there's a rumor that if you hit Bowser in any world except 8, he turns into an enemy. Never tested it myself. I don't have the game and it was taken off atarcade.com because of legal issues.

In 1-4 to 7-4, the Koopa Kings are substitutes of Bowser, they are only his warriors in a Koopa King body.
In 8-4 you face him for real.
If you beat Bowser by 5 fireballs he´ll fall in the lava as a goomba, koopa, hammer bro or something like that.
