YOU CAME JUST IN TIME FOR TEH HURRICANE SEASON. Florida's been lucky so far, looks like it's Mexico/South Texas's time to enjoy teh storms this year.Ya and did you notice that right when i move from Florida, the place you'd expect a hurricane to hit, hurricane dean sets target for Texas! Does god hate me?
Well, I hope you didn't move away from Tampa to wherever you are in Texas thinking you were ESCAPING from the hurricanes. We get our fair share here.
At least 1 or 2 hurricanes/tropical storms for every 3-4 that Florida gets. We're not as exposed to the Atlantic Ocean, of course, but as you saw with Dean, a lot of them tend to come under Cuba and get into the Gulf of Mexico and... sometimes they get stronger and stronger.
Not this time, fortunately. It helps that it barely came back out over water. Texas lucked out for once, unlike 2005. Hell, 2005... Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, AND Texas all got hit. What a year 2005 was.
