lol, I don't think Russians let america land on the moon first.
I do think it's sad russia gave up on the moon after america had landed on it though.

It's also sad that it's Neil armstrong who everyone knows of. all though the first man in space was a much larger leap, and to be honest I don't even know the russians name of the top of my head.

I admit Russia had the Bulk of the nazi forces But with out America and Britain opening up the western front, I Think Russia would of fallen. Stalin kept asking Churchill to open up a second front, But Britain didn't have enough forces to until america joined.

By 1944, the Nazi's were on retreat. Finland was offering a peace treaty, the Germans were retreating from Leningrad, Stalingrad had already been surrendered to the Red Army. The war turned in 1943.

Also Casulties don't show much as many many russians died because of bad leadership and lack of equipment. If America or Commonwealth leaders had lead the russians, the casulties would of been alot less.

Yea the Soviets used poor tactics and that's why their death toll is twice that of Germany. But Germans didn't use poor tactics, they had well maintained equipment, and still ended up losing 5+ million soldiers. While America lost 400,000. You're saying that American Army was 12 times better than the German Army? America was not as much involved as Russia or Germany. Plus America fought in every theater, not just in Europe, and still suffered minimal casualties.

Then again I think Russia wouldn't of won if they had a leader who valued his solders lives.
Stalin was what they needed.

Would've, should've, could've, we can keep guessing forever what would've happened. Fact is, the Red Army was 1.5 times bigger than German and American Army combined.

The war lasted so long due to Stalin's poor decisions. His tactics were just to send wave after wave of soldiers to their own death. Nobody was allowed to retreat, many were killed by their own officers. At the beginning of the battle in Stalingrad, the Russians only had non-automatic rifles in limited supply, with limited ammo. While Germans had tanks, planes, and machine guns. Plus the people Stalin put in charge have been retired for so long that the last time they were in charge of an army, cavalry was the main attack force. They don't know how to command tank divisions, they only have experience with cavalry.
