Everything flash I make is horrible(according to other people anyway). Everything's just gonna get blammed. Is there really any point to continue?

Yeah, we all go through the same thing as you. You're not going to become an artist in a night, but that's what praticing is for.

A 17 year old like yourself complaining like this... you lack the maturity to make 'flash'.

It's happened to all of us. Heck, I just got my first flash that survived portal judgement through the portal! Here's a few suggestions:

1. Be original. Search NG a bit for stuff that HASN'T been done, or if it has, make a better version of it.

2. Exceed Expectations. Be elaborate. Turn what could be a two hour project in to two days or even two weeks

3. Add sound! (I know there's no sound in my tutorial and thats what is hurting it) People love something to listen to along with the flash youve created.

4. Read tutorials, ask for help, do whatever it takes to help you get the flash done (but no theft of others flashes).

Try using those tips when you try making your next portal submission.

ya dude i started flash a good year and 3/4 ago and like just 2 days ago my first animation made it through, you just gotta keep truckn through cause ive submited like 3 ones previous to this, and to one of the previous reviews that say you "Lack the maturity" to animate, thats bull cause im only 14 and have a movie in with a 2.7! But of you keep on trying, mabye just experiment a bit, and take your reviews as good advice, well then you can fill NG with all sorts of stuff!

PS: Hope to see you in the portal sooner or later!

I know I my stuff used to get blammed alot because I wouldn't put alot of time into things. Patience is key, and spending a lot of time on one flash will pay off when it doesn't get blammed.

Well, I've been working on flash for about 8 months(1 or 2 on actionscript).
But......I was literally insulted on both of the summissions that got blammed!
One of them said that I should stop flash and that I suck(well, I'm not too sure about that one, I don't remember exactly if someone actually said that or not)
Another laughed at me and told me to shut up!(this one I'm really sure of)

Some assholes are going to say you suck no matter what you submit, this is Newgrounds. The great thing about passing judgement is that those reviews usually get deleted.

Quit if you want, or keep going, it doesn't affect me one way or the other. The fact that you asked says that you're looking for a reason not to quit, you're going to have to find that reason within, not from us.

You don't need to draw to animate sticks. Just use the line tool. Raise the line thickness and then just redraw the sticks frame by frame.

Dude, you're doing really well! One more year and some patience and you can become a great flash artist! All I see missing in that flash you sampled is that the sticks need to be a little thicker, there needs to be more sounds, and it needs to be longer. All that requires patience. If you keep working hard, you'll be great in no time(well, maybe a year, but yeah).

Quite honestly, I think you have done this to get some attention. Flash is something that takes a while to adjust to, and not something you quit, but merely leave alone for a littlw while, its not like smoking or drinking.

Keep going at it, and maybe one day.............

That kind of mindset is the reason why you fail.

You think people get good over night? They do, but only because they put their heart and soul into their practice and training through unrivaled dedication.

The hell is with you kids these days? Do you hate things only because you cannot achieve results instantly? Shameful...

If you want to improve, stop moping around and start using Flash. Plan every step, ask for advice when you need it. If you want to give up, it's your own loss and you'll live as the failure that you are and will always be. IS THAT THE WAY YOU WANT IT?

He actually strikes a hard point. There is no-one who just wakes up with the abilities of flash, unlike certain people with sports like soccer, and football. You need to spend a few months looking and reading through a few things, and then a week after that planning your methods and what the storyline is and much more.

Flash is something thats cool to be able to master, and if you cant, it wont affect your life much, but it can help out to know these things, especially with certain jobs, l;ike HTML codiong, or anything around computers really.

Not even with sports, in fact, nothing can have abilities 'awakened' just like that. Closest would be a fast learning rate if anything.

You need to spend a few months looking and reading through a few things, and then a week after that planning your methods and what the storyline is and much more.

Flash isn't just for show, there is much depth and a wide knowledge base needed to learn it well.

If you're using Flash for more graphic-oriented work...

Art, Design and even Physics knowledge is needed beforehand to help manage Flash better. It will also be helpful to have some experience with Object Oriented Programming.

Flash is something thats cool to be able to master, and if you cant, it wont affect your life much

Unless one is aiming for a proper multimedia career such as myself.

but it can help out to know these things, especially with certain jobs, l;ike HTML codiong, or anything around computers really.

Wrong, you don't need to be adept at Flash to handle Computers at a hardware level.
