4.07 / 5.00 13,902 ViewsI have been messing around with flash for a few days and I really like it. I am not a great artist or AS coder, but I have a whole mess of fun while doing flash. I really want to get better at it so I can post something on NG and actually have people like it. I want to be on the other end of the stick for once.
I have looked at a lot of the tutorials on NG, but I have only learned very basic things. There are many things I want to learn. A tutor would be awesome, but I know the odds of that are slim.
I don't really know what I am asking, but I guess it could be portrayed as, 'teach me stuff, please!'.
-Thanx
Think of these forums as one huge collective tutor.
Perpetually looking for time to return to the arts.
Try looking at other good movies and look at some aspects that make them great movies. Things like shading, stories, details, ect.
Also look at this tutorial. It gives great backround help, and the style shown in this Flash is also applicable in characters as well. It really helped me.
:U
Thank you all. Thank you all for being such a great help.
I will gladly answer all your questions and i will give you some tips on specific techniques if you want.
Just PM any doubts you have and post them in the forum, one of us is going to give you te answer you need.
Its good to see a animator with animator soul ;) not just a kid messing around flash.
Always remember to have fun and to never give up, start with common techniques as madness or stick, and move foward, create your own techniques. This could take months or years, just animate whenever you feel inspired.

Thank you.
Also, what do you think about me making a stick-basketball flash animation? I have been batting that around in my head for about an hour now.
Instead of getting a tutor, you could ask for someone to make a tutorial on the stuff you want to know or be better at.

a stick-basketball animation..? or game? cuz watching and playing basketball is fun.. but watching stick people.. hmm.. i dont think so.. what u could use that for is practice ur animations, its always a good thing to practice.. so do i think u should make it? if u still think of doing it now, then go ahead, i think it would be great practice for u..
Just do it, if you thinks that is good enough for newgrounds submit it, if you think it isnt, improve it.
Either way the only way to learn flash is, well, doing flash XD
It could be agood movie if you had bloopers or funny jokes in it.
Also gory animations always work ;)
The point wiht Flash is that tutorials can only take you to a certain point, from there on you are on your own. It is a program you need to learn on your own. Even if you have many years of experience, you will still learn something new every day.
Great for learning animation and drawing...
