I'm working on a site template. I've done quite alot in a short space of time and personally I think it looks quite nice but I was wondering what other people thought.

Link

So should I continue going with it or just star again?
Any comments are welcome.
Thanks

It's quite good, not much to comment on yet, though. But I'd say, continue with it and post again when you done a bit more so we can give proper critic.

'About' shifts slightly after a roll-over. A bit annoying.

I don't like sites that are 100% flash - I think being unable to deeplink is generally an undesirable side-effect.

Maybe add on a Flash menu or something?

Menu seems fairly... run of the mill, I'd say.

Colours are all a bit drab and dark for my liking. May change after images , headers etc. are added.

My own site is old, crumbling and imperfectly implemented, but I felt it worth showing:

(If you click the menu on the left, I didn't set it up properly to reload the full page, which I will do for new site. Clicking on any content though always reloads the page, allowing for direct links.)

The buttons are way to big, the shade of blue is overused (I don't like it). And your site will be much better when only the menu is in Flash, while the rest of the site remains in php/html.

it is a very intese site and i am not sure how you are going to get advertising in if it is all flash... see how you have parts that stick out.. adverts, news, affiliates play around with differnt shades of blue to see which ones work well rather than keeping the whole thing the same colour also the resolution is a little large i am not sure if it is just the denvish upload but i have the scroll to see it all... unless you want it this way of course still don't give up i am sure it will turn out great :)

Waaay too big, blue is waaay too heavy! It's overpowering.. Gradients are also waaay too heavy - I hate repeating myself but with these things, less is more. These days gradients are still useful but usually are used as the background before the page (like newgrounds)...

Layouts like this can be achieved much more easily in html/php + css - and also gives you more flexibility than having a flash site you can only update with using the fla.
