I wanna' know how many members of newgrounds are members of the greatest military on the planet. Lemme' know as much as you can tell, I doubt you'll be getting dishonorably discharged for posting your best kept secrets, or dastardly deeds.
I'm an E-3 in the USAF, gonna' be E-4 in August, which is also during the same week I turn 21. Been in for almost three years. My job is Morale Welfare and Recreation, or MWR. I ran the linen exchange on Keesler Air Force base before getting deployed.
Was stationed at Keesler Air Force base for the first two years of my enlistment, during which I got to go TDY to san antonio to become a certified fitness trainer.
Got deployed here on Guantanamo Bay Naval base last november, and have relied on newgrounds.com to help me forget the fact that this it the stupidest base in existence. It's a Navy base, run by an Army two star. I work with Army, Navy, Marines, and other Air Force. You can see how each branch thinks when we argue.
I'm getting a couple ribbons out of this. A JTF ribbon, and the all new "Guantanamo bay" ribbon. I won't get a overseas short tour ribbon, because this isn't considered the type of base that qualifies you for one of those. That'll make five total ribbons that I have. I already have the boot camp ribbon, the national defense ribbon, and my favorite "Outstanding Unit" ribbon for my unit getting an outstanding on their operational readiness inspection. My unit is very oustanding.
I have twelve coins that I cherish. The two most presitigous are a coin of excellence given to me by a four star general for helping deploy alot of troops and supplies during the whole 9-11 thing, and I recently got a coin of excellence from a command sergeant major.
I took my scheduled physical eval recently. For the Air Force it's a bike test. I got a score of 60, making my in the top 5 percentile in the USAF. That means that 95 percent of the Air Force is less physically fit than I am.

Hmmm, sounds impressive. When you say "linen exchange", does that mean you were in charge of laundry?
I'm not in the military, but I did send back this "request for more information" postcard last week to the Marines (or Navy, or Army, one of them bitches) inquiring about whatever Engineering/Computer type shit I could get in to. I'm getting sick of this town, and if I don't get transferred to a different college by next spring at the latest, I'm joining something to take my ass the hell out of here.

Yeah basically. Keesler Air Force base has alot of Air Force members who are in the job training phase, and arn't quite permanent party yet. They would turn in their dirty linen, and I would issue them clean linen. I'd fill out forms, and make out all the paper work for the contractors to come by and take the dirty linen. I'd also take the uniforms from members of the Air Force Honor Guard, and have them get sent to a seperate contractor for cleaning. I got an unsung hero award for doing the most thankless job on the base.
The military is a swell vacation if you're stuck in the doldrums where you live. The bad things about it are you might get treated like shit, talked down to by complete idiots, have to keep your room and uniforms clean and organized, and remember ALOT of forms.
The good things about it are the fact that alot of things are just given too you. Until you become an E-5, or move into a house off base, you get free food. While you live on base you get free water, electricity, gas. If you get married you get a free house on base if you want to live on base, gotta' maintain it real good though. You can sign up for a retirement fund right away after joining, guarunteeing yourself a sweet load of cash up front after you get out. All of my pay check is spending money right now. You also get the respect of people who see you wearing the uniform. Sometimes you get ridicule, but not from anyone who really matters.

A common perception held by the public which just continues the spiral down.
Our army is underfunded, undermanned and underequipped but that does not make our soldiers less of a fighting force.
Our snipers in Afganistan broke the record for the longest kill from a distance- it was 2430 m.
Back in the early 90s before more crippling funding cuts, we often beat armies in the other world in competitions.
Canada supplies the US with a lot of military equipment like the tank firing control systems.
We even make one of the APCs the Americans use.
Our equipment may fail because we can't afford replacements but do not look down upon the men and women that serve your country.
We are moving from a large traditional army with ground holding capabilities to a smaller strike force which reflects the new nature of modern conflict.

Actually, your views don't count because your grammar is reprehensible. ;)
Did they make cuts to the education budget in your part of the nation?

Heh, sorry.
I make fun of our military too because it's so damn poor... and we have so few members it's sad.
I just like to set the record straight for people who just browse upon this stuff because it's the lack of pride that will kill Canada.

He's not in the army.
He's in the Air Force.
Big difference.
i.e. your killing people question doesn't apply.
See if he was a Marine or in some combat trade, then it'd apply.
