I don't think this killer is going to get much further if he continues at the pace he (assuming it is a he) has been going at in the last week. All his previous kills were before the police were aware that a serial killer was on the lose, and from now on there is going to be a major police presence in the area, not to mention the remaining prostitutes will be far more wary.
If he has any sanity left (and it isn't certain he does) then he will stop and disappear, possibly turning up somewhere else in a few months when the story has died down a bit. My guess is that 5 kills, plus any he may have had previously, is all that he is going to get away with.

Prostitution should be legal because then it's all indoors and safer and that's a good enough reason for me. In fact, brothels should be legal and street prostitution should be illegal and if you're caught street prostituting you're taken to an appropriate brothel and signed up.
Furthermore pimps stop pimping and sex traffickers stop sex trafficking and it's the oldest career in the world anyway and it's not like making it illegal has stopped it in any way. In countries where the penalty is death it still goes on so obviously certain women feel inclined to do this job regardless of the law and a few guys choose to visit them, this supply and demand will always exist andd we'd be better off embracing it.
You guys look down on hookers far too much, too. They're human beings just like you and therefore just as important and worthy to live. Although some people deserve to die, I would not say hookers do, since they don't seem to be doing anything particularly bad imo.

And anyone who disagrees with prostitution but looks at porn or agrees with the man's right to view porn - they're almost the exact same fucking thing and porn stars are far closer to prosititutes than they'd admit.

That's exactly what the current law is. Prostitution has always been legal in the UK. It's soliciting and kerb crawling that's illegal.

In the United Kingdom, prostitution is not formally illegal, but several activities surrounding it are outlawed. In England and Wales, the legal situation is:
* for a prostitute to loiter or conduct solicitation in a street or public place is illegal, therefore outlawing street prostitution.
* it is also illegal for a potential client to solicit persistently, or solicit from a motor vehicle ("kerb crawling").
* owning or running a brothel is illegal.
* child prostitution is specifically illegal for the person paying (where child is defined as younger than 18, although the age of consent is 16)
* controlling prostitution for gain is an offence, banning pimping.
There has been long and widespread debate as to whether the a toleration of prostitution similar to that seen in The Netherlands and Germany should be extended. Local police forces have historically flipped between zero tolerance of prostitution and unofficial red light districts.
The Government announced on January 17, 2006, that in England and Wales it was considering allowing small brothels, whilst continuing the crackdown against kerb-crawling, which is seen as a nuisance. A similar situation exists in Scotland, with prostitution itself not illegal but associated activities are. A Prostitution Tolerance Zones Bill was introduced into the Scottish Parliament but failed to become law.

I gues that means that it's legal for me to arrange for a friend to give me a blowjob in returrn for half a fag and a bite of a Mars Bar but it's awful difficult to make a career out of it. Everyonw knows where their local brothels are including the police, so I guess everyone turns a blind eye to brothels and focuses on street prostitution, but we should have big ol' Red Light Areas filled with brothels like in Amsterdam rather than street prostitutes and the odd isolated brothel.
Or perhaps there just is no real ownership of the brothels that exist and that's why they don't get raided particularly often.
Anyway, prostitution needs to be legitamised and ran like a proper business with proper quality controls and proper safety and proper buildings with proper beds like in Amsterdam rather than what we have at the moment.

Prostitutes (in most countries) at the moment are a burden on society. Most of them are just heroin junkies (as were most of the murdered ones) spreading their legs to feed their habit. Also, most of them are probably declared unemployed and thus - not paying any tax or contributing nothing what so ever to society.
They need money? They should stop shooting up and get a real fucking job.

It'd be cheaper if we legalised it and gave them unions and then taxed them. And sold them medical legal heroin - far cheaper.

True that. Don't agree with the heroin thing though. That drug is just bad news.

They don't have the right to do that, not by the letter of the law anyway.
In terms of nature, it was abhorrent that we invented the condom. The thing about promiscuity is that it leads to a sexually relaxed attitude. Eventually, people stop being competitive about women.
Case in point: Tahiti.
Once you begin to lose competitiveness, you begin to lose your drive for agression, which is fatal if there is a food shortage or invasion.
Now, it would be silly for me to say that all promiscuious people don't deserve to live, there would be too little people in any given country to run it. D:
Re-education is the path to stopping promiscuity, but prostitutes are a bit different. They have their own community, their own vested interests, many are in it for the money and so cannot be re-educated.
I like this ripper fellow.

Of course. It's largely guesswork whether it'd be a good idea or not I suppose - have to see it in practice, monitor addiction and homelessness and drug crime and everything, see what happens to it, but I'd imagine with cheaper heroin homelessness and drug crime would go down and you'd have to be an idiot to do heroin - kids should be taught that it is a really boring drug for really boring individuals with really boring lives focused entirely around heroin, which it is, rather than that it's the be-all and end-all superdrug that'll give you a massive high and is really illegal and therefore really good.
We got no proper realistic education about heroin addiction.

There is sometimes no difference and sometimes a large difference.
I'll be pragmatic about it - it depends on the porn.
Pornography in Nazi Germany, for example, did not feature penetration, but nude shots. Often of the model engaged in an athletic persuit such as volleyball.

Aye, so, naked ladies in nude shots aren't prostitution, it's just like getting a lapdance - I'd agree with that. But you know what I mean. Porn is very similar to prostitution.

Aye. Most forms of prostitution are illegal though. It's not legal enough.

yeah, I would disagree with outlawing either strippers or lapdances.
But you know what I mean. Porn is very similar to prostitution.
Yes. In fact, you could argue that they aren't just hypocrites, but are helping perpetuate the industry. Supply and demand means more shots will be done.
I do agree with you, I just wanted to be pragmatic about it. :D

Last time I went out at night was last friday, it seemed normal. But the news is making out like our 'small market town' [>:(] is scared shitless, it's not really that scary, seeing as I reckon this guy is purely going for prostitutes. I'm more scared of the stabing and shooting outside a chavy club that does under 18 indie nights every now and then to be honest.

The principle is the exact same. Sleeping around isn't very good for society.

Yeah, that's totally it. Maus, you're a smart girl, you don't have to stoop to that level.

I find it some what purplexing that when the prostitutes of anywhere are not being killed police refer to them as degenerate scum that ruin our streets with their sexually promiscuous behavior. But as soon as they start dropping off it's all "we have to save the girls!!". And it's all very reminescent of Jack the Ripper, with the exception of this killer not being a man familiar with the human anatomy and such. Still horrible that someone is running about taking other's lives.

Yes, I heard speculation that he will go on to kill regular, decent girls.
I reckon that he will go to a different town to continue the spree, but I guess there's a reason I don't work for the police. :S
