Well, HERE THEY ARE!!!

This report hasn't yet been completely confirmed, but it seems pretty damning...

http://story.news.yahoo.com/ne...0407/ts_nm/iraq_usa_cache_dc_3

Several barrels of sarin, and ready-to-fire missiles equipped with sarin and mustard gas.

If this turns out to be true, then the credibility of the anti-war movement is shot.

Two things:

1. Yes, WMDs are bad. If they found them hooray. It means the Theif in Cheif gets a cookie for guessing based on a college student's thesis paper that the Middle East "might" be a threat to world peace. Duh, but then again the US is a threat to world peace.

2. The anti-war movement is not solely based on the assumption that there aren't WMDs. That would be dumb. Try instead to grasp that people genuinely believe that conflicts can be settled peacefully. Forgive us for hoping....

But that's the thing. Hope is fine, but it should be based on realism. Can anyone realistically believe that Saddam Hussein would be willing to respond to diplomacy? He let inspectors in, sure, but the discovery of WMDs would seem to prove that he was misleading them. What does it make you believe if our troops found in two weeks what the inspectors couldn't find in eleven years?

Ahhh....but now you're running two seperate time lines. The Iraq Saddam is not in the same place as Saudi Saddam. Our inspectors were only given less than a half year there, and so we have to put that in perspective.

pfff! evil dude. It's been identified as barrels of pesticide. Just chill out, and stop seeking ammo against the anti-war movement. US military is trying hard enough to find any credible evidence to back up this illegal war, so for god's-sake, be patient and get the facts straight first!

Three things to add to that other guys 2 things:

1. They found residue. It could have been from before the Gulf War

2.Remember the chemical factory that was found about 2 weeks ago? what was it again?

3.They could easily plant it

I will not believe it till a independant 3rd party that has nothing to gain from either end of spectrum has it confirmed. Until then, I will not believe it.

Most other news sources have also reported that these canisters were found in Al Qaida training camps and near Al Qaida installations in northern Iraq. They did not say that the Iraqi government was responsible for the canisters. We have terrorists training in the United States, and from what we've seen, Anthrax being produced without our knowledge. Don't be so quick to jump on Iraq.

I was trying to not be too quick. Note that I said, "if it turns out to be true."

Maybe I shouldn't have opened with "Well, here they are!" But I wanted to grab your attention.

That sarin thing may have turned out to not be true, but there were reports of them finding missiles with chemical warheads. I just got back from school, and just now read some reports about these. I read the story about the sarin gas being debunked, but these reports haven't said anything about the missiles. Has anyone heard if that report has been confirmed?

This is a report from FOX News of an apparently different site, found outside Karbala. I'm going to be more careful with this one.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,83449,00.html

I stand by my earlier statement that this would deal a serious blow to anti-war arguments if confirmed... but this time, I want to emphasize the "if confirmed" part. :)

Er...um...everyone hides canisters in holes in the desert...come on, who doesn't have them in their backyard?

I think you need to get the facts strait, the chemicals were identified as blister agents and nerve agents, You really need those when spraying your food...

That's what the first report turned out to be, but I mentioned another report that seems to be the real deal.

Most of the tests came back inconclusive, and the only one that I've heard, read, or seen that came back conclusive was for agricultural agents.

I dont know where you get this from because I just saw on both CNN and Fox news they did a test with some big machine and it came up positive for serin and that other stuff, and trust me you do NOT want to use sarin to spray your plants.

Who gives a flying fuck if they have weapons of mass destruction or not? I don't the point is, is that we are ridding the world of one of the last of the few true tyrants.

Talking to a man like Saddam Hussein accomplishes nothing, his record on human rights shows that he needed to be removed.

So a few people have died because of this war, and? Life is a bitch tens of thousands of innocent people die every day from all sorts of non war related causes.

Sometimes one must realize that there are things more important than life. Life under the boot of a tyrant is far from life.

In the words of the Patrick Henry "Give me liberty or give me death."

Valid point. Saddam is a man who needs to go anyway. But the international community wouldn't go for removing him just for the sake of removing him. They needed a reason. So we pointed out the fact that he was blatantly violating UN resolutions requiring his disarmament, and got 1441 passed (unanimously, I might add). Saddam failed to comply with the terms of 1441, and continued to lead inspectors around in a wild goose chase. And yet certain nations still refused to support military action.

At this point, all finding WMDs means is that we can say, "Hey, we were right and you were wrong." But damn, I want to be able to say that. The French need to be put in their place.

And our evilness have been proven, too. I mean, hey... we know we're right. We don't need proof. We'll force the proof out of them. And if we don't get the proof, we'll make up other stories to cover up our mistakes and keep the sheep in line. We're giving all other counries reason to stock pile their military so that the US won't invade their country next. We have proven we own the world. We're right and everyone else is wrong. We can't be evil. We're fucking God!!

We have our justification for doing things the wrong way. That's severely fucked up. That's not what the US is supposed to be about. We're supposed to create peace, not kill it. If you think we're increasing our security, you living in fantasy. We have created so many enemies by going about this war the wrong way. I don't care how justified it was, it wasn't worth it.

its kinda like not liking someone and then shooting their kids, letting him run saway from the country, and then stealing his garden and holding rights to all matericals you find in his house.

thats the best way i can describe the war.

Nice description, but not exactly what I was getting at. My gripe is akin to wanting to kill a criminal without proof he did the crime. Who would agree to that? Everyone would want proof he did the crime before you off him. But you ignore them knowing he is the one who did the crime. Then, after killing him you find the proof and gloat to everyone and demanding they apologize for doubting you. Does that make how you did things right?

You know what? If what Bush is doing is acceptable, why don't we follow his lead at home. Screw the police. They take too long in getting the job done and even then, they're too nice to the criminals. Hell, sometimes those evil criminals gets off on a technicality. The police are no different from UN inspectors, right? Sure I'm right. I say we take the law into our own hands like President Bush has done. Why do we need to prove to anyone what anyone is guilty of. We know that criminal is guilty and that's all that matters. We'll worry about proof afterwords. It's the new American way and it'll definitely make the streets safer.

Even if the criminal you speak of was not guilty of having weapons of mass destruction does that matter? The regime has already killed thousands of its own citizens and cares nothing of their rights. This "criminal" proved his own guilt long ago.

quite possibly, but then before saddam, lets arrest the people who sanctioned Iraq and caused MILLIONS of deaths by starvation, not thousands. also, lets arrest the americans that put him in power.

well he could be talking about Multiple Saddams; the one reportedly on holiday in Syria, and the one who narrowly missed getting (4 x 200 lb) bunker-bombed in the residential district restaurant two days ago..

..there are know to be 5 or more SAD targets inside and outside Iraq - which is very convenient for America koz they get to wage war with about 3 more middle east countries whilst hunting him (err, them) down.

But just as likely, he is referring to the 7 years of sanctions for inspections Saddam, as opposed to the Iran vrs Iraq buddy-buddy Saddam, as opposed to the soon to be USA deposed Saddam (each one a perfect genetic clone of the other ;O)_*

That's the REAL reason America is at WAAARRR - they envy all of the Saddams that ever came out of a test-tube without needing some kinda FDA approval !!!
