Dr. Chalabi, the leading man to replace Saddam after a US general is in power, was influential in the US's invasion of Iraq. Does he have positive potential in creating a friendly Iraqi-American relationship?

Sorry, but his name just looks so much like Dr. Chalupa that I can't find time to form a decent view on the subject.

"By allah! A chalupa!"

"Mr Chalupa, the goverment of the United States of America salutes you in your descision to disarm and renouce your former dictator. We also appriciate the fact that Iraq has decided to give up its quest for nu-q-lar weapons"

You want to know the real reason for this war? Coffee and burgers. A Starbucks and McDonalds on every corner, raking in money for the United States. Yeah, I'm right.

Judge, I just have to take a second to say that the "By Allah! A Chalupa!" bit made me giggle like a japanese schoolgirl. Thanks

Chalabi will only be temporary. They're going to install an interim government until they war is over and a permanent government can be decided upon and chosen. They have to figure out how to work things out between all the differing ethnic groups. One plan is for a sort of United Iraqi Commonwealth composed of semi-autonomous states based upon each region's inhabitants (Kurbs, Shi'ites, Sunni, etc.)

Yes, just like the "government" we installed in Afghanistan. That worked really well.

so in essence do you see a breakup of Iraq since the Kurds in their own regard do not co-exist with multiple governments. This appears to mimic the Hungarian problem in Austria a few centuries back, where the Magyars wanted independence.

Bush: Dr Chalupa, we appreciate your continuing friendship and solidarity. Your peace efforts are well respected, and you are welcome in my home any time.
