School is watching me

I know this has happened to other people on the BBS before, but now it is happening to me. My school has been monitoring my BBS posts, and other things I have done on Newgrounds.

I woke up this morning, still sick as I have been since yesterday, I come out of the shower and change my clothes. I lay back down on my bed and turn on the TV, my mom comes up to my room with two sheets of paper in my hand.

She asks me "todd, have you been posting this stuff on a website called newgrounds?". Since I sort of knew what was going on, I simply said "yes". She sat down at the end of my bed for maybe 10 seconds and asked me. "Do you really agree with what you say, about Americans, and asians."

I simply replied with, yes I dislike AMERICA, but not the people, and I said I joke around about asians, bt my girlfriend is asian, so she of course knows I am not racist to them. She told me that my sick humor was innapropriate and started to leave my room.

As she was leaving I asked her to stop. She turned around and asked me what I needed. I asked her how she knew this. And she replied with "your pricipal emailed me". She didn't seem to care very much, but she disliked my hatred towards the US of A.

What should I do? I am thinking of threatening to sue the school of invasion of privacy...

ASk them to stop and if they dont then proceed to sue them (you'll have a better case) or dig up dirt about them =P

well, using school computers is a privalege, so you can't sue. But your mom really shouldn't be telling you that your humor is innapropriate. she's not really encouraging you creatively. BBS, I'd say, is a moderately healthy way of dealing with that (of course, doing it IRL, in a safe enviroment is best).

the irony is that they will see this thread and either get you into more toruble or relsie they have broken the law by invading your privacy and you could indeed sue them.

luckly for me i finsihed shcool ages ago.. i wonder if they will still watch you when you leave school?

If the computers are owned by the school, they can monitor whatever they want. Our school did.

They should tell you all that you're being monitored, which would save them a lot of time because most people wouldn't risk visiting any dodgy websites.

But, they don't have to tell you. Just accept it.

School network systems have admins, admins who know what everyone is doing on all the school's computers. In other words, that/those person(s) are paid to monitor you.
