People have maternal instinct. That means they don't want there children to be raped, killed or anything that could cause them harm.

Since pedophiles have been known to hurt children, maternal instinct kicks in and people hate pedophiles

The problem of us going down this path is that we begin to look at ideas that cannot be proven nor disproven. Naturally, I have to take the idea into account, but denial is unfalsifiable, this path leads us to asking the pedophile about his mother, etc.

Your argument makes a lot of sense, but I still think paedophiles deserve to be hated. It may be a medical disorder, but some of the things that happen are just too sick to dismiss.

It is uncommon for a pedophile to have sex with a child (pedophilic actions in a pedophile fluctuate with psychosocial stress) and especially rare for them to abduct one. Usually, they are actually in love with the children, they are sick, not evil.

I worked with kids who were victims of this, and most of them were little girls who were victimized by their fathers. Others were little boys who were lured into a home. I consider that pretty sick AND evil.

It's thinking like this that's letting out repeat offenders into public.

Here's my 2 cents:

Pedophiles are dangerous. Their rational for hurting young children is irrelevant. They are a danger in today's society.

I'm not saying we should torture/kill/hurt them, but they do need to be taken out of society.
Do you have any idea how a pedophile can harm a child? Kids who are molested at an early age tend to have the following problems: Sexual addiction, gender-identity issues, sexual identity issues, depression (leading to suicide), poor sexual boundaries, and a plethora of other non-desirable side-affects. Hell, an abused child may even become a pedophile!

We also must remember that pedophiles are likely a product of sexual abuse, and it's not purely genetic.

Looking at it from a Christian standpoint, we do need to love pedophiles and help them, but at the same time we can't condone their action or try to justify them.

One last point -- I think you said something about pedophiles simply loving children. Not entirely true. Many pedophiles are sociopaths and/or narcissists who don't care about the impact their actions have on their victims. It's all about them getting off on their sexual fetish, and nothing more.
