I thought I would give this a try. This will be a stock market simulation game. For this project, I will be your broker. I will lay out the basic points and rules for this game. please regard these rules and lets see who can make the most money.
Your Objective
You have been given $100,000 to invest in stocks and stocks ONLY. No commodities, bonds, and crap like that. (Just to keep the game simple.) And the man who gave you the money said that if you make back more than $100,000, the extra profit is yours. You now need to try to make as much money as possible!
Basic Gameplay
-You first need to sign up to recieve your $100,000. You must also declaire your first stock purchases, how many shares are you goin to buy, and what kind of purchase is it. (Ex. buy, sell, short sell, and short cover are your four options.)
-Each transaction you make will cost you $25, so just keep that in mind. Also you cannot buy part of a share in a stock.
-Once purchased, you will need to keep tab on your stock to see how you are doing. I will be posting a daily scoreboard to show who is doing the best and the worst.
-The person with the most amount of money by the end of the time period (probably 8 weeks if we can manage that long) will be declaired the winner.
Other rules
-Loans will not be an option other than the short selling and short cover methods mentioed above.
-Players can form a team, but once the team is made, the team altogether gets $100,000 to keep them on even playing field with other players playing by themselves.
-If you post a trade during trading hours, I will match your post time with the matching market price. If you post it during after-market hours, then you will automatically make the trade at the opening price of the next day.
-The ease the work on my part, a limit of 100 transactions will be placed on each player/team.
I can't think of anything else. And don't worry too much about doing work and math, I can do that crap for you. Just name your stock and the number of shares and I will take care of it for you. It is what I do to earn my fake $25 commission. So give it a try if you will, it will be great fun and you can go brag when the other guy goes broke.

They actully have a game like this on the internet, where it uses the real stock market, they made my class play it in 4th grade.
I buy as many shares of NG as i can.
I would like to play. I am good with this stuff. I would like to invest $20,000 in Google because those stocks are going crazy lately. They're up around 430 and are probably going to split soon.
i would like to purchase:
$50,000 in 'AOL time warner'
$25,000 in 'Bank of America Corporation'
$24,975 in 'Texas Pacific Land Trust'

Are you crazy? Ford is a dieing company. They just had a buy out last week in some factories just so the company could survive a little longer. No motor vehicle company is doing good. If you must invest into them, wait a year or two until stocks start to raise a large amount when companies start making profit again.
Sign me up, and put all my money in google! NO WHAMMY STOP!
Put 60k more into google for me. That way, I have 80,000 in Google. Then put 10k into walmart and 10k into Charles Schwabb.
