As many of you know Minnesota faces a large budget deficiet, somewhere around 4 bllion, and we have to go through the budget and make cuts and such. Well for some reason my Language arts teacher thought this was relevant to his teachings so he made us do a project. He showed us a part of www.mpr.org where you could balance the budget yourself, If you havent already done it I recommend it.
The first time through I effeciently balanced the budget with minimal cuts and some tax raises but when I went through the second time I decided to take a different approach and go through it as mean as I could (Cut all things that help people and raise taxes on the disabled). At the end It compares you desiscions to the governers budget plan and when I looked the second time through I noticed almost all of my evil desiscions matched the governers. We both cut education funding for both public schools and the mentally handicapped, we both cut medicare for the poor and dipped into the tabbacco settlement money (but most of those gave very meager sums of money back). This lead me to ask the question, Why is this man my governer?
You should all see it for yourself because its hard to understand just how badly he made his desiscions. By the way one of his campaign promises was that he wont raise taxes, I guess that only mean on the rich not the nursing home patients...

I cannot vote but it wouldsnt matter, he said he didnt want to raise taxes but he did. And nowhere in his campaign did he say anything about cutting the budget for the handicapped learning. You can vote all you want but you still wont know if they are lying.

even still unless the election came down to 1 vote... would his vote have mattered???

when a candidate outright lies bout his methods to the budget not too much u can do to prevent him... which is why, NOW you ahve to rally some people (at least 15k) to get the governor to fix the budget... OR get people to run for state legislature THAT WAY they get to redo the budget the way it should be...

a couple things are were the same... like the scale back the amount of money the schools get now, but they will get some later... and acting alongside neighbor states, and setting up casinos in the twin cities... and raisin taxes on those that make 200k and up...

Indiana's right down there in the hole with you. O'Bannon, while a nice guy, has destroyed himself in the past few years by making a lot of needless cuts and ending us in a huge hole. Lt. Governor Kernan has had his image so tarnished because of following O'Bannon that he's rejected his own run for governor. It takes a lot to destroy the entire democratic party in Indiana. Yeah. Bad Frank. Your "Spend everything and hope we get it back" idea didn't work too well.
