Newgrounds in 15 years?

I was thinking about it the other day. I wonder what Tom is going to do with the website when he grows up? Not to say that Tom is a child, just hes going to get married eventually, and he'll problably have a family. How long can he run a site like newgrounds until he decides its too childish for him to continue it.

I think that he'll either hand it off to his kids when they're of age, give it to someone who is younger and he feels more appropriate to run the site. Or the last one, which i think is the least likey to happen, sell it.

What do you think?

I did not call his job childish! God damn i respect the man and what hes doing to make a living, ontop of that i enjoy his website so much, then i guess i'd be calling myself a child as well. He's essentially the sole owner and proprietor of Newgrounds, he can do whatever the hell he wants with the site. And if the success that NG enjoys right now keeps up, by the end of 15 he can sell it, just like the owners of YouTube sold their site to Google.

But look at it from a creators point of view. He created this website, yes it is his, but it is his creation. If i would be so bold as to say so (and i will) Its his child. Hes watched it grow into what it is. Granted with the whole child symposium, theres the letting go stage, but think about it. Would he really want to just give it away for money so a corporation can ruin all the hard work hes done. No way.

I believe he would.

No matter how many memories he may have here, I don't believe he would say no to big fat wads of cash, and if the price is right, he'll sell it. Not at the first chance he gets, but I believe if he's going to make a killing of a certain deal, he WILL sell it.

Just like how the creators of YouTube (I already used this example once) sold their creation and how MySpace is selling out to companies for money.

It will be given to people he trusts. No doubt about it. NOT his children! The girl's going to become an army general and the boy will be a magician or a gipsy. I would imagine Tom would give it to Wade or Stamper.

If I remember correctly, Tom has already been offered large sums of money for NG, and he has turned it down. He doesn't want to sell it out, and that makes him that much more of an awesome man.

Besides, NG isn't only his child, but his job. NG is what would put food on the table for his family, like it already does for Wade. Out of the passion Tom has for what he does, and the close support he gets from his user base, NG will probably be here for a longass time.

Just try and make sure that your children don't look up your NG posts 20 years from now. Wouldn't that be funny.
