How young is too young?

as i watch the war, im am increasingly concerned about the age in troops. There are some really really young people out there. Not to mention a couple of friends that went straight to the army after graduation.
I know its there choice but i dont understand how some one that young chooses to go war when they have such a long future ahead of them.
If the draft ever came, i know would go and not complain,but i would be still angry that i havent accomlished such things in my life yet.

You think that is young, the some Iraqi troops are having kids 12 and younger fight and ambush troops. It's like a new Hitlers youth.

That, and everyone's seen those pictures that depict a 7-year old kid holding an AK-47... They're training kids that aren't even teenagers yet to fight... I think it's sick...

It is the new hitler youth, only thing is hitler was nicer. I mean the children who joined werent forced with guns there heads to or have there families killed.

i noticed that pyscho saddam is having plalace guarded by children so we dont bomb.

Let's not forget about the suicide bombers. I heard that they were forced into doing that too... Well, at least they weren't kids...

i heard a number from a recruiter that approximately 96% of the people in the reserves are doing it for the college money... thats pretty much why they join...

personally i dont see the US getting hit by a missile, because if u launch a missle the US will find out where it came from... and take out the problem... whereas if u take fucking boxcutters on a plane there is no way to find out where u came from...

Yea, in Hitlers youth they loved it. They had interviews with former hitlers youth memebers. They went on Vacation's camping, he even gave the kids control of other kids sorta liek a power trip. The only part that probably sucked to be in Hitlers youth is when he had them Defend Berlin againt the proffesional Russian amry.

all i know is that the german army was probaly the most feared army at that time.
i mean if i faced an emeny that had been brainwashed to kill anything in sight i would be scared shitless!

The isrealites army would ahve been much fearcer now a days(how ironic). The reason the Germans where so eagar to listen to Hitler, was becouse they were pissed off. The treaty that they were forced to sign during WW1 screwed them. It made them responsible for the war cousing (which it was Austria-Hungary) Screwed there manufacturing and took away there army making them completely vulnerable. Plus, they humiliated The germans by making them sign a peace treaty in a box car. They were not brain washed, they were just pissed off.

That said, when engaging in war, one should be old enough to handle it mentally, but young enough to handle it physically. This would be, to me, 21-30 range.

i also think some ppl old or young should take a some sort of test to prove that they can handle it.
when it comes down to it, both can fail under presure.

funny story though..on 911 we had a girl convinced that suicide bombers were going to attack our high school, in new brunswick, out in some back water town.... :) Don't worry, your worst enemy is yourself, not Iraq. Actually, Saddam has a lot of influence with Osama and definately has some responsability with the 9/11 attack. Saddam does it all the time when he urges all the muslims to attack the US. As I've said b4, the CIA knows more than us and wont say anything.

actually it was the Serbian Black Hand 'terrorist/revolutionary' group's member Gavrillo Princep... he shot archduke Ferdinand in Sarajevo causing Austria-Hungary to declare war on Serbia AND then Wilhem of Germany gave a blank check to A-H and Russia had to defend the slavic people of Serbia, then Russia got France and Britian to get their countries involved... then well WW1...
