I don't care if Saddam lives in jail or gets strung up by his family jewels, that's not the point. What you call a technicality is really an injustice to the entire judicial system. Saddam had a right to do as he saw fit with the people who tried to assassinate him as the president of Iraq.
Yeah. People he thought were trying to assassinate him.

Considering you're so sure about your information, I'm sure you wouldn't mind providing a source for that claim. I have a multitude of sources actually describing that day in Dujail. But I will await your response.
Injured Workers rights were taken away in the 1920's by an insurance company (WCB), it's high time we got them back.

the fact that he said they were trying to assassinate him proves nothing. he could say the earth is flat and he'd still be wrong

Really? Care to prove that every person listed was trying to assassinate him? I mean after all, you made your statement first.

Unfortunately there is no info on the 143 people killed, whether they were the actual gunmen or not. But there was an attempt on his life as I stated. You can read about it here. K, so I gave you a source proving there was an assassination on his life, now you show your source that says Saddam only "thought" people were trying to kill him.

People are just trying to split hairs now. What's the point? Not a single person, even the pro-Saddam people, can deny that he killed a large number of people.
However, this still does not give anyone else the right to end his life. The people who end his life will end their lives as no better a person than he.

I didn't there wasn't an assassination on his life. I guess I should compare him to Stalin. But hey, I guess if you're ok with him slaughtering dozens of innocent people just to weed out these few would-be assassins.
Breaking News! We should slam the US government for 'allegedley' using what some call 'torture', but A-OK for Saddam to mow down many innocent people to get to those who want to kill him.
I just, love your Standards.

You said, and I quote, "People he thought were trying to assassinate him.". It wasn't a thought, people were really trying to assassinate him. 19 hijackers were used to attack the WTC, how many people were killed and detained by the US military due to that act alone? I'm willing to bet it was more than 19. Heck, I'm willing to bet it was more than 143.
