Errr, no, Saddam Hussein is being tried by his own people. The Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal is all Iraqi, and the UN is quite ticked because Hussein isn't being tried under their international laws.

I misread part of the post I was replying to. Both dictators were tried by their own countrymen, and most of the scenario is the same. So there was a foreign force involved in Hussein's trial--still doesn't make my point lessened as a result. There was no way that either would get a fair trial done up by their own people.

Nor did I imply otherwise. But Hussein is getting trialed after a foreign country invaded, ceausescu managed to get his own people to rise up against him. As you said yourself, he's not getting a fair trial anyway, so it doesn't matter which kangaroo court judges him.

Saddam Hussein had the right to kill anyone he wanted under his own government, just like Bush has the right to kill people right now. If Saddam gets death sentence, Bush should too.

How the hell am I suppose to provide a source for what I consider "unrealistic"? I'm not going to find anything on "It's unrealistic to give Saddam the death penality because no one, not even hitler deserves death". I was reading a biography on Ronald Reagan in my school Library. It's called Ronald Reagan: Life and Rise to the Presidency. It talked about how while he was working as an announcer, someone (while going thru files) realized that there was certain tax information that wasn't being counted on Reagan (Reagan of course had a reason for this). However, this man who illegally took personal information, went over and handed it to the media, in which the media then displayed.

Or do you realize how the news will provide an "anonymous source" in which could imply that they're either covering up this person or just making it up. Or do you want me to remind of when Dan Rather was practically forced to apologize for critizing Bush over alleged documents which were then later labeled as False. Or do you want me to remind you on how the Media constantly slammed Bush for going AWOL, when there is no proof of it.

I don't care if Saddam lives in jail or gets strung up by his family jewels, that's not the point. What you call a technicality is really an injustice to the entire judicial system. Saddam had a right to do as he saw fit with the people who tried to assassinate him as the president of Iraq.
