Earlier I made a (partly joking) post about scotland breaking away from england (literally) and away to hang with hawaii (yes ive seen the flash movie)
Ok so I open the newspaper and they had an almost similar type picture.
It seems the United Kingdowm will split and each country will have there independance
(Sorry if this is posted before I did to a quick search)

Wow. Around 50% of both the British and Scottish want to split up? A pretty hefty percentage.
As I'm not European, I don't have much of an opinion on this.

St. Andrew's Cross is a beter flag than the Jack anyways.
That's enough justification.

How, exactly?
I'll level with you - we can actually run on renewable energy sources. We can grow our own food. Fuck, we don't need you for anything, yet we are shackled to you.
England, to a lesser extent, also needs freedom. True, it is England that opresses the Celtic nations, but you forget what Scottish MPs did to your decisions about hospitals. That's right - fucked it up and bounced it the opposite way of the Labour party line - the party that your people asked for.

I guess independance could be the way forward...
I remember in the paper some dimwitted reported writes an article on how it wood be if the UK did split up and I do remember him saying when scotland get a medal, the queen and phillip are there with NO Tartan in sight (Big fuckin wow, why should they anyway) and here comes the scottish national anthem -<<< at this point he writes the lyrics of the 500 miles song. Our anthem is the flower of scotland
Also on a website they had before/after pictures, and they had a soilder looking at some kind of barracks with a union jack in the "before" and in the "after" it was an English flag.
Our fuckin troops are in there too!
I probabaly have jus touched on the little things about this topic, but it had pissed me off too much

The only Northern Irish people that need England are the loyalists.
And if they like it so much they should just go there and give us our country back.

Considering that the UK and Ireland together are just about as large as our smallest province, I'd have to say...
Fuck you all, the culture is the same. It's only about as different as the Maritime people in Canada are to the people on the west coast. Different, yes, but no big deal.
Why must Europe be plagued by such detrimental nationalism and patriotism?

We're only considering it because we want to piss off Northern Ireland.
Tbh I couldn't care if the UK splits up, just so long as it remains just as easy to cross the borders and to relocate yourself to Scotland or N. Ireland and all the other benefits to the countries being one entity.

I think that we should break up. After all, we are different countries really. I thought that there was some English oil in the North Sea though. Anyway, I'm not sure about what would happen to Northern Ireland. Whether there would finally be a united Ireland or not, I don't know. One thing I am sick of is Scots slagging the English off. Maybe if there wasn't a UK they wouldn't do that.

Apparently the Scottish and English havn't been getting along latley. Lots of arguements and disagrements, it's impossible for the island to actually break apart like it shows in the picture but I wouldn't want the United Kingdom with only three countries, it just doesn't sound right or look right having a whole island and only the bottom half of it joined together as the "United Kingdom." Why can't everyone just get along? Anyway if we break apart we will loose the precious Scottish oil sites and that's baad :(
Anyway I reckon this is just a rumour so I wouldn't worry about it yet.
What a good looking mirror.

And that post is the evidence of someone who has no idea what they're talking about. I don't know about your Maritime and west coast people, so I don't make judgements. Also, the fact that you said 'Why must EUROPE' shows your ignorance all the more. So don't make judgements about our part of the world.

North sea oil will run out of oil soon anyway.
Scotland wasn't oppressed by England. It was a Scottish King who united the kingdoms of Scotland and Ireland.
Also going back hundreds more years. The Scottish carried out far more many raids on England than England did on Scotland, The Scottish Raped and Pillaged Northen England so much that England Invaded Scotland and took it, then Scotland eventually succeeded in Independence, Hundreds of years later A scottish king was made King of England and so Joined the Kingdoms of Scotland and England together.
The average Scottishman has more voting power so therfore more rights than the average welsh, English and Northen Irish man.
Scotland has it's own parliment, England,Wales and N.Ireland don't.
Also The British Parliment Is run mostly by scottishmen anyway.
I wouldn't mind the UK becoming independent, i'd rather have a English passport than a British one.
I think the relationship between English an scottish will get better.
In the 300 years we've been together we've pratically ruled the world, but now i think its time to break up.
i'll miss the Union jack, But you gotta love St.George and of course St andrew for scottish
I'm for it.

Well, I live in Ireland (Republic) and I think this a fairly stupid idea.
It makes travelling to or from Scotland harder on thousands of people for no real reason.
Really, its good enough as it is now, so why fix it if its not broken?

I've always felt English, not British. We will be better off without these moaning Scots. Can't see the problem with being independent - we already are in football terms and wouldn't have it any other way! Come on England - and make St George's Day our national Bank Holiday too!

We could be a modern European success story like Ireland, and get back some national identity and cultural self-esteem too.
have you not realised though? when it comes to money on a global scale. the scots and irish would be nowhere without England
oh and also. the Union Jack OWNS the other flags :P

Thats the problem with it, not to mention the thousands apon thousands of people who have family in scotland an england, huge amounts of people will have to basically chose to be either scottish or english.
Also Scotland will become poor, example a man earning 30k will only earn 7,500 after the break up making him a relitivly poorer man.
Also with Scotland being a poor country there could be illegal imigration to england from scotland which would be bad for england.
N.Ireland and wales will get the real hard end of the deal though.
EU countries (including England) will have to put millions upon millions into Scotland, Wales an N.Ireland.
So weither your from, France, Germany, England, Ireland, Italy .etc the money sorting it out will come from your pockets.
I can also see bombs blowing up english people by N. Irish loyalists and probably scottish loyalists, welsh loyalists an even english loyalists, Riots an shit everywere.
The Scottish want to be more Irish an the English can't be arsed with the scottish anymore.
The difference is with Scottish an Irish is The Irish were treated badly by the British, Scottish have always been treated the same as english. Nowadays the Scottish have it even better it seems.

Britain put Millions into ireland to make it succesfull as did many other countries in the EU.
Its going to cost the EU huge amounts of money for something which isn't generally needed.
Scotlands nothing like Ireland, Ireland needed independence as it wasnt treated well.
Scotland has always been treated extremely well. Ireland an wales were conquered wrongfully by english. Scotland chose to unite with England,
It was a scottish man who passed the act of union!
Fuckin scottish just want to be irish to much.
i'm for the break up just to get rid of scotland, but I don't think its fair on the Welsh or N/Irish

A ship flying the british flag has fuck all to do with the nationality of the company or the sailors. Just an indication that another foriegn company have taken the british flag of convenience for the soft touch and tax dodge
