The media is starting to piss me off. You'd think that maybe when we had a war, they could back off and let things play themselves out without the media having to capture everything. I mean, between the journalists that have been killed in conflict, and all of the misinformation spreading before stories are verified, I think we would all be better off if the press backed off a bit. Whats freedom of the press when half of what they publish is guesses or things that have yet to be proven?

i happen to agree with you. I wrote a topic the other day on the concept of getting rid of the journalists in the warzones, and inviting them to attend a one day briefing session held by the US government's military representatives.

the media should have total rights on what to publish. if they feel the wish to go into a country when there is a war on than so be it. i give them full support. would you prefer to live your lives not knowing anything on the TV? i like switching on BBC1 and seeing exactly what is happening in the war.

Hmm. BBC might be more acurate but still far from the truth. I have been posting around that the media is something we are gonna have to just tolerate. If it makes anyone feel better, Iraq is doing the exact same thing. Pyschological warefare is neccesasry if we are gonna keep the public pro-war or whatever the goverment wants. By the way, anyone see the Oscars? Was that Micheal moore who they were booing? He is my hero.

i totally agree with you. although it is cool to be able to see what they are seeing, i would prefer if the media would get the hell out of the way and let our men and women do their jobs. not only does media influence people before they have the whole story but they also put civilians in an unnecessary position where they can be hurt.
represent.
