In case you didn't see the message at the bottom of the screen, or if you never venture into the General BBS, you should know about this page:

http://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/rules.html

Comments and suggestions welcome, send an email to me, the other mods, or to the admins.

There isn't too much trouble in here as in the other forums, but you still need to know this :)

b) No hateful or racist remarks. You may have noticed that the "n-word" is not allowed on the BBS. There is a reason for this. Using trickery or any other shenanigans to get around this is bannable. Over-use of the word gay or any other homosexual put down is also prohibited.

that rule is gay...;)

Sadly, bans are BBS-wide. We can't confine users to just one forum - or restrict them from just one forum.

Now that the rules are public, it makes my job a little easier. Hopefully I won't get too many emails from banned users like "OGM WERE DOSE IT SAY THAT?!"

I read these rules realize something:

Half of them aren't being followed most of the time! I see spam, parodies and useless topics aplenty on the general board (the rare occasions I skim through it). Why isn't nearly everyone banned?

Freak, I have a cool suggestion. What if there was an area that showed the names of all users who are permantly banned or temp. banned. Sort of turn it into a disgraceful thing that way everybody will know that that person was lame and would sort of be shamed into being proper, sort of like a shunning. and instead of calling them banned they should be called refugees for the temps and exiled for the permantly banned. Just a suggestion. Hope calling you freak does'nt bug you. "dont hit me" Cowering

Nah, it doesn't bother me. Someone did mention an idea like that before, but it was decided against. I forget why... maybe not humiliating the banned users or something like that.

Geeze... the topic made to discuss the BBS rules and mods was locked.
Freak said "Complaining about the mods is a bannable offence."
Why would we be banned?
We're not rising up in rebellion, it just helps keep people cool and calm to get things out in the open, rather than a festering boil of hatred.
We could have civil debate and discussion, but it seems Freak is intent on enforcing the new BBS rules to the greatest possible extent.

I'm going by the rules. I'm going to lock/delete any topic about mods - good or bad. Unless you're mister_pink_is_whatever or you're starting "FUCK THE MODS!" crews, you shouldn't have to worry about getting banned for making a topic about the mods.

Freakapotimus:

This is a quote from the Dark Crystal post regarding Whether it would have been better to wipe out the jews tha you just locked.

"Although the topic in and of itself wasn't so bad, some offensive comments have been made, so I'm locking the topic. If you want to debate the extinction of a certain religion or followers of that religion, you may do so without being stupid about it."

I have a problem here and it may not have been intentional but I am a Jew and I don't feel these topics to be appropriate at all.

"Although the topic in and of itself wasn't so bad, some offensive comments have been made, "

The topic itself was bad and highly offensive, a discussion about whether or not wiping out a people is not acceptable regardless if political correct words are used.

"If you want to debate the extinction of a certain religion or followers of that religion, you may do so without being stupid about it."

Freakapotimus, do you see what you are saying right here. A debate about the systamic killing of a religion or its followers is stupid, racist, and full of bigitory. The idea in itself is stupid before it is discussed.

Like I said before I am a jew and I am proud to be a jew and I don't appreciate topics about wiping me and my people out. And I am upset even more now by the fact that you as a moderator did not shut down the topic when it started and did not forcefully condone the subject all together. I am a NG member and I enjoy the forums especially, but I will not tolerate a deliberate attack on any religion or people and whether it would be ok to wipe them out. Now I know that you are not racist or a bigot or anything like that, I just wanted to let you know what I and I'm sure some other users feel about this.

I didn't say anything about the discussion of "the systamic killing of a religionor its followers." I said the extinction, which is an entirely different thing. As time goes on, people convert to different religions or leave them entirely. It's highly likely that one day certain religions will have no followers. Therefore, that religion will be extinct.

I'm sorry if you are offended by that idea that one day Judaism may not exists anymore, but the discussion of that idea is not "stupid, racist, and full of bigitory."

Although I will not stand for intolerant, hateful, or highly offensive posts, I would allow such a topic to stay, IF it contained intelligent posts by tolerant people. Such a topic could contain arguments on the political ramifications, debates on changes in family life, or the closings of private schools.

There have been many, many relgions and belief systems that have died out over the years, and religious extinction is nothing new. HOWEVER, as I mentioned before, hate is not tolerated.

BTW: I haven't been online since Friday afternoon, I was very sick most of that time. I'm sorry if the topic wasn't locked sooner. You should have called the topic to the attention of another mod.

His post was not about the extinction of a religion. His post was about whether the genocide of the Jewish people would have been good or bad.

"Sleeping yea sleeping and i was wondering what would the world be like if hitler did his job and killed the jews? Would the world be any different, worse or better?"

What kind of debate can that promote. Whats to debate.
Worse or Better. I mean really come on, there is no question that world would not be better if all the jews were systimatically killed. This is BS.

Yeah, what he said was idiotic as well as racist, but what more do you want? He lost face on that thread, and respect is the only legal tender here.

I just want someone in charge of this place to stand up and say no This topic is not acceptiable and straight out put their foot down. And I don't feel like a strong enough statement has been made. I would like a very public and loud announcement condeming these topics. I dont feel that I should have to argue whether or not it would have been better if I and my people did not exist.

The Politics Crew denounces the thread "Life without Jews?!?!" as a pointless, hurtful and wholly racist topic. It serves not to educate, nor to enlighten, only to spread racist and intolerant sentiments.
We give our condolences and apoligies to the Jewish people for this topic and pledge our support to their continued longevity.
