I don't think this thought has occured to most people. Many fights are going on in the Holy Land between Israelis and Palestinians, but where are the Christians. I mean, technically, Abraham promised the land of Canaan to Jews, Christians, and Muslims, so why isnt there a land that is designated for the Christians?

Here's my idea:
Israel will stay as is and remain a part of the holy land for the Jews. Palestine will be broken off, forming its own nation in the holy land for Muslims. The Gaza Strip will be taken and occupied Christians, then later renamed the Jesus Strip. This way, all religions will have a part of the holy land and no one can fight each other saying they dont have a part of it.

Anyway, I want to know how other people think about this so make logical, thought out posts. None of this, "Thats gay," posting and give me your opinions of this whole situation.

abraham didn't promise the land of canaan to the muslims. his lineage through isaac, not ishmael (the father of the arabs). since christianity does not emphasize pilgramage, and the holy land is of no real current or special importance, christians have no need to fight over it.

The Christians have the Vatican.

And the undisputed holy land of Islam is that which surrounds Mecca (Saudi Arabia)

Ah yes. Let's create MORE territories in the Middle East in order to make the people even more pissed off than they already are! People over there don't hate us enough anyway.

we don't need that kind of cinicism here. AND STOP TYPING YOUR NAME AFTER EVERYTHING YOU POST. we know very well who posted it (your screen name to the left kind of gives it away).

Well excuse me. So I'm a little sarcastic. Doesn't make my statement any less true. Can't blame a guy for using his sense of humor to argue.

Christians weren't promised the Holy Land. The Jews were promised the Holy Land. Anyone can become a Christian, but the Jews are Gods chosen people. Even though the Jews have made some bad decisions. They don't even believe the Messiah has come yet.

Technically, Christianity is a sect of Judaism. You might as well say that Jews are Christians that refused to make the transition.

which brings me to an interesting argument, why don't Christians keep kosher and celebrate the Jewish holidays as well as their own unique ones if they are a branch of Judaism? I mean i do see a serious amount of overlap and repetition but i never knew why. I'm just curious, not at all cynical or prejudice or what not.

If Adam and Eve only had two kids, then either Cain or Abel would have had to impregnate Eve.
Unless the bible omits something. I just thought of that.

I believe they were the eldest sons. There were other people around too; when Cain left, he went to live with them.

Actually, Adam and Eve had three sons: Cain, Abel, and Seth. Seth is the one who's descendants are Noah, Abraham, Issac, Jacob, etc. Although the bible says that Cain knew (meaning had sex with) his wife, I don't know where the hell she came from because the bible does not make referances to any daughters.

Technically, God promised the Holy Land to Abraham and ALL of his descendants. Jews and Christians follow Abraham's son Isaac and his descendants while Muslims follow Abraham's son Ishmael and his descendants(Issac's mother is Sarah, Abraham's wife, while Ishmael's mother is Hagar, Sarah's slave/servant). So technically, the Holy Land is promised to Christians, Jews, and Muslims.
