I have a stupid know-it-all step dad, and he's trying to convince me that Newgrounds is a bad site. He's been saying stuff like, "We just got 3 viruses down, you have to stop using the net." I'd reply, "Wtf? I'm only going on one site (Newgrounds) and thousands of people use that." He'd then continue, "Then that's the problem, I've checked it out and we're getting tracking cookies and heaps of trojans from Newsround (He's also an idiot). Stop going to it." I'm pissed that he would even mention that. Has anyone ever experienced any problems from using Newgrounds? I'm going to use it as evidence to prove he's just being a bullshitter.

If you don't have mozilla with adblocker, you might be getting malicious cookies and spyware. Just get adblock and set mozilla to ask you everytime a site wants to set a cookie. You'll be fine.

Newgrounds has a pretty good history of giving people spyware due to the malicious third party ads on the site. Get some decent spyware and virus protection programs, as well as Firefox's AdBlock and you shouldn't have any problems. If your computer's in a state where programs can install themselves without your consent, you need to vamp up your security anyway.
