Ok, here's the situation

You have a suspect in a small area crowed with innocent civilians. You have tried to get the suspect to comply with a simple peaceful order, leave the building. Yet the suspect is rospoding with extreme hostility, and then begins to become incredibly beligerent. You kinwo violence has not happened yet, but the situation is going downhill incredibly fast. You have a very short time to react, this could erupt at any second.

What is your NUMBER ONE priority in this situation?

Yes, there are right and wrong answers to these questions. A wrong answer could prove very costly. Keep in mind, you are here to protect and serve.

This is a bit going off-topic, but some cops in NYC killed an *unarmed* man on his wedding day.

You cannot make a sound judgement based upon the video alone. For one the view of the student is obscured by objects in the room, all you can hear is what he is yelling and stuff, but not really see anything. Second the recording only starts half-way through the incedent so we do not know fromt he video what happend prior.

Perhaps we shoudl wait for the whoel story to come up before we scream how horrible this was and the police shoudlnt have done anything. I have heard several inconsistancies with what so claled witnesses claim happend (most ablly saying he was shot with a tazer gun when they dont have guns, they have tazer batons, not tazer guns).

BTW these were campus police, not LAPD.

If these people were campus police, why would they have tazers? Shouldn't they use their martial arts knowledge or handcuffs INSTEAD of using a tazer? I mean, the situation could've been handled a lot better and FASTER with the use of martial arts and handcuffs.
