No one gives props to John C. Frémont. Seriously, folks, you would thinking someone like him, noted and notorious in his time, would be somewhat known on the level of a lesser Founding Father, at least to history buffs. But no, not even some of the history-oriented Newgrundlians seem willing to give a shout out to ol' John C. Sometimes I wonder if anyone can even name anything significant about him without Googling or Wikipedia-ing. I mean straight off the top of the head. No? Didn't think so.
John C. in the Heezy.

I just had some test on Frémont and friends in the pre-civil war era, and I must say, I remember him being some hell of a man, but I don't actually remember what he did. I was busy being too mesmerized by our friend Henry Clay, who, by the way, prefers to be called by his childhood name, God.

He started a war in California and beat the Mexicans.
Seriously, beating the Mexicans isn't that hard.

I think the several towns and bridges named after him are props enough. Hell, one of them is a drawbridge. No bigger props then having a drawbridge named after you...

I played "Oregon Trail, 4th edition", and John Fremont was touted as the man who went from Missouri to Oregon and wrote a map showing the safest route to oregon for emmigrants who who were preparing to move to Oregon to establish themselves financially.

Almost forgot, this was in the 1840s, when wagon trains were still being used.
