If by standard you mean manual, then yes.
If by standard you mean not manual, then yes.
I hate driving though.
Yes I can. I rock it out in my dad's 82 Jeep CJ-7. I love it.
When I lived on a farm it was standard, I wan't as great with it.
But yes

I fall under the no category :)
waste of a thread... only an idiot cant drive standard, its just an extra peddle, and each vehichle takes some getting used to till your proficeint with it.

Its a little more than just an extra peddal. But I agree that standard (or manual or whatever) is a waste of time. When I drive I just want to get from point a to point b with the least amount of effort and trouble. I dont give a shit what I'm driving as long as it moves and I dont have to worry about it breaking down or blowing up. Beyond that I shouldnt have to think or move anymore than absolutly nesscary.

It's for school but ya, I know lots of people who have problems with standard.
I had trouble learning it to. Getting the right feel and timing can be a pain in the ass.

lol, I love driving standard.
It makes it so much more I dunno, entertaining and fun.

It makes you feel a lot more in control of what you're doing.
I'd like to think that even though you're doing something extra, it actually makes you focus more on driving, thus making you a better driver.
Just my little theory.

Didnt have any problems. Never stalled out or had trouble getting started, I took right to it, and I hated every second of it. Its such a hassle. Granted I wasnt completly comfortable going around in stop/go traffic during rush hour for a while becuase I was a wee bit slow with the gear shifts at first. But even driving automatic most people are uncomfortable in those situations.
I am not legally able to drive a car, but yes I can.
yes I can drive stick shift, I have one
It's funny because you're all so young.

Why is that funny.
Legal driving age most places is 16.
No and these days cars with those transmissions have no loess than 6 gears so learning on them can be a bitch

Meh, I don't see how having more gears creates anymore problems.
Plus the only time you need 6th gear is on the highway where stopping and going isn't an issue.

Except England >:(. Which it's only 16 if the person is disabled.
This too will pass.
Memento mori
Yep, although I haven't done so in about 8 years. I prefer the greater feeling of control over automatic transmission though, particularily in winter.

Where I live it is 15.
And to answer your question. Yes I can drive a manual car. It is more fun.
my family has never owned a car with a standard transmission (we did way back when before I could drive but we got rid of em) so I never learned : (
eh, i'm 18 and i don't drive. 1 part lazy 1 part don't care. it's just too expensive. and living on campus, i don't pay for transportation. so, why bother? the only reason i can think of is that people bitch at me for not having it
