I just had enough of this "ban violent videogames" stuff. Why shall we stop with just videogames??
They say that videogames cause addiction. Well, I suppose so does TV.
There are a lot of violent cartoons, and nobody forbids children to watch them.
I mean things like "Animaniacs" and "Tom & Jerry". Have you seen how much pain do characters cause to each other? What can kids take from this??
I think such kind movies just have to be banned.
As well as violent clips and other stuff.
No violence on TV!!

Let's not stop at that. There are more things which "cause" violence in society.. You've got to look at books aswell.. I say, we should ban any book in which ANY person dies in a way that is not natural causes... Books are evil and violent, have you ever read Homer's The Iliad? It's filled with gore!!
Better yet, lets also ban history.. Afterall that is the ultimate cause of violence. After the banning of history lets ban individual thought... People's imaginations are far more vivid than if they were watching a horrific event... In order to stop this corruption of children we must also ban the human mind....

You're totally correct!! We have to burn all of the books, just like nazis did. For peaceful human race!

I don't think Tom & Jerry has inspired a single person to violence... and Animaniacs, it has to be watched and engaging to be impressionable, but that's just crap.

Didn't the Simpsons already do this in a much more funny and thought provoking way?
For those of you who are 14 The Simpsons is a prime time television show that in it's day had such a level of hilliarity it made Family Guy look like an episode of Boy Meets World. Not the Jr high and high school years, those were ok, I'm talking the college years, those sucked. That Topanga was one fine piece of ass though.

You know what? there's too much porn on the internet. Let's ban it because a 3-year-old could easily get to 4chan.

You're using the same logic that the Conservatives are using to ban video games. All you're doing now is switching the target.
Here I am, bored with everything.

It's funny you say that they should get rid of porn, because in Australia there are thoughts of having porn all porn filtered, and you would need a permit sort of thing to get it.

It's a fact: the Columbine kids weren't inspired by Doom. It was actually that episode of Bugs Bunny were Elmer Fudd chases him into a high school. Hilarity ensues.

If they took Violence and Sex out of Movies and off TV, It'd completely ruin James Bond movies.
What would he do, sit around all day?

Banning solves nothing to begin with.
They say that videogames cause addiction. Well, I suppose so does TV.
So does reading, sports and anything else which catches attention.
There are a lot of violent cartoons, and nobody forbids children to watch them.
I mean things like "Animaniacs" and "Tom & Jerry". Have you seen how much pain do characters cause to each other? What can kids take from this??
At that time, kids had the right mindset to watch them and be unaffected in a negative light thanks to good parenting unlike today's typical household.
I think such kind movies just have to be banned.
I think such people who want to actively participate in meaningless boycott should spend that time educating their children and showing them the better path in life instead of solving problems through foolish ignorance.

you can become addicted to anything if you dont do/watch it in moderation. im tired of seeing and hearing people talk about banning violent things. i think that if a parrent doesent want their child watching violent cartoons and movies and such, they should get a v-chip and stop trying to make everyone suffer because they find something to be rude or offensive. Everyone should not have to change how they live just to make one person happy.
