Have you heard of the 0 factor? It's the coincidence of assassination attempts on presidents who were elected in a year ending in 0

1860-Lincoln(death)
1900-McKinley(death)
1960-Kennedy(death)
1980-Reagan(failed attempt but left president in critical condition)
2000-Bush(?)

will the trend continue?

I wish I could say I hope so, but as much as I dislike Bush, I don't wish death upon him.

Merely shame and dishonor.

i'm one of them.

But it will probably just piss off the yanks even more, so it's not a very wise thing to do.

If you don't live in the USA, don't complain about Bush.

I have heard of this before, and I thought that there were more so I looked it up. http://www.flc7.com/news/bush%20curse.html

Its quite the coincidence, but it may have been broken with Reagan surviving the attempt.

I doubt it. Ever since September 11th, our nation has had security up the wazoo. It's most likely not gonna happen.

I always thought it was called the zero curse. My history teacher and I placed a bet on whether or not Bush would die or at least have a close call like Reagan. I bet that he would not, and he took the other end of the spectrum. He thought he had me on September 11th, but after George remained alive through the attacks he tried to get me by saying he almost was assassinated by the hijackers heading for the white house but they failed. Needless to say, I did not give him any money for that.

They made an interesting point on that website. Bush never went into office until 2001... maybe he is spared from the curse then? :)

these presidents were elected into office in a year ending in 0, and took their oaths the following year so i believe Bush fits the parameters...sorry

Nem, aren't you the same guy who said-

Everyone already knows France sucks.

The USA is going to save this world from the state it's in whether you like it or not, so deal with it.
---If the US is going to save the world, or at least meddle in everyone else's affairs, then they have a right to talk about it.

If you don't like the USA get the fuck out and go live in a sand shack.
---So if you don't live in USA, you can't criticise, and if you criticise, you should "get the fuck out". You've pretty much closed Bush off from opposition.

Bashing Bush is a sign of ignorance.

I agree, elf girls are hot.

Haha, yes, anime girls 0wn

Curse? You people need a hobby. As for Bush, if you don't like what he has to offer, move to Russia.

i have every right to complain about Bush. he is the reason this country is at war (Britain, that is.) without his ideas, we'd be at peace at the moment.

You have a right to complain about his foreign policy, but you have no right to call him a bad president unless you live here.

so I can't call Kim Jong Il a monstrous, bloodthirsty, overbearing, sadly cultured dictator because i don't have the privlege to live in NK?

there isn't any real proof that he is other than defectors from NK. and there is no way to independently find that out because no one can enter NK and if they are allowed in they don't get to see very much. it's unfair to call him that, although it's assumed he is, because we don't know first hand.

of course, but if you've never seen a cactus first hand, and you understand what a cactus is and its characteristics, you know that it's spiky, green, and is moist on the inside

you know what they say about people that assume. they make an "ass" out of "u" and "me". hehe. learned that in 7th grade. but you can't assume that all cacti are spiky, as they aren't all spiky on the outside. so since there are exceptions to every rule it is never correct to assume anything without first having hard proof. having just said that i feel dirty and angry that i did, but that is what it takes. gah, i'm having a cigarette now.

Well then, I guess we shouldn't be complaining about Saddam then since we don't live in Iraq (not like anyone in Iraq could get away with complaining about Saddam).

ok so after mysecondstar's valid rebuttal i can only say that he is a cultured dictator. I reserve all the other comments to myself!!!!

it was painful saying that. i'm so anti-Kim Jong Il it isn't even funny. but the problem is that if we do that with everyone, we should technically be bullying the French right now. i know something will be done with Kim Jong Il, because, as you say, most cacti are spiky. but it just isn't right to assume that.

assassinating a president will just lead the country to disunity? and worst of all it's unethical too.

and everyone should remember the lesson we learn from the World War 1.

A) One small scuffle can start a great war
B) Secret treaties destroy international fabric
C) Illegal use of sea(air now) is a major international issue
D) Poison gases should be eliminated from warfare
E) An effective body of representatives from various nations should help control disputes

gee...it sounds like we're starting a new WWI

i dont think i have EVER called bush a bad president i have called him a tosser, a twat, an arsehole, stupid, an idiot, brainless, a madman, mentally unstable and a whole host of other things but i have never calle dhim a bad president.
