Your post is based off the assumption that all women are weaker than men. That simply isn't true.

If anyone attacks you seriously, they should be struck, regardless of their gender.

You were completley in the right, an assailant is an assailant. Holding back was well done on your part. Knocking her on her ass is completely forgiveable, she hit you in the face!

As soon as you get punched in the nose you know this person is trying to really hurt you, so they just become a sexless foe. Still, restraint is advised for legal reasons.

I am a person who has only been in one fight my entire life. I deplore using violence as a matter of resovling problems. Even though I am in the Air Force I am actually a very passive individual.

My ex-wife on the other hand (about a foot shorter and 100lbs lighter) would actually become physically abusive when she was upset and made veiled threats as to her ability to poison me and get away with it (she's a MD now, BTW).

When we got divorced her attorney (according to her...) talked her into claiming I had threatened her and was abusive. This was an all out lie.

Personally, I think when someone falsly accuses another of abuse or harassment they should get one punch or one 5 minute cuss-out session...

This has been pissing me off for a while. Don't get me wrong, domestic abuse and hitting your wife and what not is very fucking wrong and you deserve to be muched by the system. What i'm talking about is like what you said, equality.

For example, you're in this situation - just minding your shit, i dunno, having a few drinks or something with your mates. Then you head off somewhere and a group of neds(chavs/dickheads/whatever it is in america) gets in your way and wants to start something. Won't leave you alone, you and your mates try and walk away and they block your path. So you sort them out. Didn't have a choice, but in this situation these people really deserved it. You and your mates start to leave but in their group there was an ugly fat girl with white tracksuit and bling. She starts shouting at you and pushing you, making for your face like she's trying to smack you. So now what do you do?

My point is her whole attitude is built on the fact that guys are not meant to hit girls ever. She's only acting like this because that's the way people have been to her in the past. And i know people like this. Personally I would just push her out the way, but what if the situation was a group of girls?

Don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to say that it's ok to hit people, but surely it should be just as universally valid to hit anyone regardless of gender? It's not being sexist, I know many girls that could kick the shit out of me. There's no weaker side, just fucking stigma and inequality.

There are girls who can kick a comparable guy's ass any day of the week. I don't see why anyone should be getting any special treatment for that. If women and men are so equal then men should not be ridiculed with the "you got beat by a girl" condescending comment or "how could you hit a girl?!" condescending comment. Either way it seems like the male gender loses when it comes to this.

Personally society can suck a sack in regards to this. I will hit anyone I please if I'm given good enough reason and if they beat me down with good enough reason then so be it. It makes no difference if it's male or female, after all we are human and have the same rights. And don't give me that "men are stronger than women" B.S. As I said earlier, there are plenty of girls who can put a comporable male on his ass.

Some women can beat up men, therefore all men and women are equal in size and strength.

However I do find women in general getting that "special treatment". Like the woman who drowned her own kids. When was the last time you saw a man on tv who did that and got "not guilty" by reason of temporary insanity?

Exactly! At my school, even some girls are stereotypical.
Example: In gym, there's this one girl, (I won't say her name) she's about 4 ft tall and if any ball (whiffle, basket, base, don't make the "eew lolzorz she likes balls" she screams. The gym teacher always says "include the girls" but they don't include themselves. during hockey or flag football or kickball, they just stand there talking, and they scream if a ball goes near them. even when a ton of guys in the fitness center there were watching "America's most amazing videos" while riding the exercise bike, that girl (i mentioned earlier) insisted that we all watch "full house" because "it made her uneasy"
let me remind you that she's the same grade (8th) as me, and she wanted to watch FULL HOUSE. also there was loud radio music in the room and even though i was close to the tv i couldn't hear anything.
Next:
Woman demand equal rights, but they insist you pay, insist you get them stuff, insist you never hit them. ther are countless times when a girl hits a guy and whoevers in charge ignores it, but when a guy even taps a woman on the shoulder, she screams in pain and the guy gets in trouble.
You know what, if a girl loves sports and plays them well, she's a tomboy, who plays with guys and is respected as an athlete

People don't realize the sexism in double standers. Women should have the same opportunities, yes, but also the same consequences. Only then will we be truely equal.
