Answer: Learn actionscript and figure out how to represent your game mathematically, with change occurring each frame.

Not knowing the term "trolling" doesn't make you stupid.

You should start with actionscript. Go to the flash forum, and click on the second post to learn about flash and look at actionscript tutorials. If you can't find something you're looking for in the actionscript tutorials, ask the people in the Flash Forum for help.

The programming forum isn't for actionscript, but you can also make more complex games with C++, which you can discuss here.

I have RPG Maker 2 for playstation 2. It's nowhere near professional development material, but it's nice to have a fun creative outlet where the only typing you have to do is entering names for stuff, values for variables, and scripting for the events.

Also, why can't people realize that learning a programming (or even a scripting) language is like learning another vocal language.. it won't happen overnight.

I find programming alot easier than learning country languages, i find learning spanish and french alot harder than most other people, however i am the best at programming in the whole of my year of 180 people.

If you read my post, I wasn't implying that it's a good development tool. Only that it's fun. Question though: if you're reasoning for "shutting the fuck up" about the game maker programs because this is a "programming" forum, then what is your definition of programming? I'll tell you this, there is a pretty complex script language built into the game I mentioned.

I've seen here that many people have extremely warped definitions of such a term. In any case, there seems to be a general bad rap against programs like RPG Maker, GameMaker, etc.. Don't know why, I guess you just don't have skillz unless you do everything yourself.
