Wow, some of you have some of the most interesting views on religion. And I'd just like to say, the person that started this wanted to see who on newgrounds was a christian, not who isn't and what those people's views are on christianity.
Thank you, was just about to say that.

thing is with this one.. were still in the early stages, were still talking about christianty.. even if were not all christians...

Oh? What evidence is THIS?
I could say there's a significant amount of evidence to support Christianity, Islam and Judaism.

whats funny is, i dont see the bible as a history book, i see it as a bunch of stories that scare the shit out of us so we dont go off and do something to piss god off or else we may end up like those who were punished in the stories
oh yeah, i've been a confirmed christian for a few years now...church has really cut down on my snowboarding time during the winter

since when do schools without any religion become "normal"?
its just sad
What do you mean, "sad"? Are you suggesting there be religion taught in all schools? What about non-religious people? Why shouldn't people be able to make up their own minds? I don't see how someone can see something as "sad" just because it doesn't agree with their beliefs. Everyone has different beliefs. I don't think religion should be taught to anyone. Want to know why I think that? Because I happen to think that religion is a bunch of bullshit created to take the fear out of dying and to make sure nobody thinks too hard. Think about it. Christians rely on "faith" to guide them through life. They never stop to question things or think about the idea that they've been believing this religion all their lives just because it was taught to them. Religion is only good for starting wars and repressing thoughts that might go against normal society.

no no no you missunderstand me!
what i find sad is not that people are able to make up their minds about religion.
what i do find sad is that not everyone is a christian and so all schools could be able to worship God.
as for "religion is bullshit" fine you can think so but trieing to tell others so is also sad and its sad that you think that and i wish you didnt but i cant think for you
oh and by the way as you think christians arent open minded, my pastor talks to us about other religions all the time and realy its not that we arent open minded its just that thats not what we believe.

i'm catholic, i go to Church every sunday, and i belive in God and Jesus and the Holy Spirit. i don't believe the teachings of the church in many areas. i belive in the big bang theory and evolution. i think science has the answers to all things that are able to be concieved. i think that science will, in the future, reach a point to where there is no explanation for something except for an almighty power that is bigger than all of us.
I could surely die

I really don't know why this has turned into a debate thread.
Theory and faith are two different things. Someone (can't remember who) pointed out something very important.
You can poke holes in Christian theory. But you can't poke holes in strong, healthy faith.
You can tell me all sorts of things, but that isn't going to make me budge from my faith in Christ.
I give all of you respect for holding your opinions, especially those that have informed decisions. All I ask, as a christian, is for that same respect.
Also, please. Please, please please. I beg. Stop trying to group all Christians into one category. There are horrible, awful things done in the name of Christ.
THAT DOES NOT MAKE THEM RIGHT.
Not all Christians are bigots or hatful assholes.
Please stop thinking of them as such.

Ehh...ok...That's acceptable...
Evidence for Evolution
-fossil records show systematic change through time
hmmm...supposedly...but couldn't this also be due to Genetics?...As certain recessive genes become extinct through time...and mutations also take place...
-biological diversity around the world
Ehhh...that isn't really evidence...Evolution was supposed to explain WHY there is biological diversity...but I could easily say "God created them"... Gregor Mendel tried to use Genetics (or the earliest form of it) to explain it.

Genetic variations argue in favor of evolution, not against it.

Fossil records do NOT show systematic change through time. Ever wonder where they get the skulls displayed between human and monkey skulls? MOLDS! PLASTER! Sorry, they don't have any. If fossils truley displayed such evolutionary change I would be a full supporter of this theory, but instead I can only scratch my head and wonder why people believe this fallacy.
Biological diversity: Does in fact exist... and this explains the theory of evolution how? Biodiversity is simply a varied amount of flora and fauna. Creationists believe this to be the work of God (which I find more believable as an artist when I paint or draw nature. There is no way its beauty can be found in the randomness of genetic mutations).
There's evidence to support the theory that tomatoes cause car accidents. Do you realize how many people who cause car accidents eat tomatoes! Science can reveal clues to how the universe works, but it's up to individuals to interpret it.

Ok i think you stated these just cause you figured no one knew what they were enough to dispute them, it's a good tactic because it's tough to explain them as either right or wrong, but we both know they (like christianity i suppose) are merely theories with out much support so... it's still a matter of faith
A. It can't be both pick big bang or evolution i don't feel like arguing both
Evidence for Evolution
-fossil records show systematic change through time
B. Fossil records show some slight genetic adaptation but not evolution if creatures did evolve there would be transitional fossils and if evolution occurs naturally why are we not still evolving? Why did half the monkeys turn into humans and half not and then no more monkeys changed period... let me guess they were friends with the teenage mutant ninja turtles.
C. This explains nothing...
-biological diversity around the world
D. This isn't a debate no one attacked you NOT being a christian so why get defensive? It's silly
E.No one can prove their right and no one can prove anyone else is wrong so why argue?

(and not a disclaimer to anyone in particular no less)
I am going ahead and writing this now. I do not mean to offend anyone reading this, by stating my opinion just like you have the right to do i am not trying to fight with you and i am not trying to say i am smarter than you. Thank you in advance for not harrassing me because i chose to disagree with you. I DO NOT WISH TO INCUR YOUR WRATH YOU NAZI !!!! I will peacefully state my opinion but if you attack me i probably wont dignify you with a response.

P.S.
Please show me a car that has no maker
or a piece of art with no artist
or a building with no designer
P.P.S.
Take 1000 monkeys and 1000 typewriters and put them in a room together and throw every page they type into the sea when one of them ACCIDENTLY types a nice complex work of shakesphere word perfect, then come talk to me. That's about how slim a shot the big bang theory has.

have anyone ever noticed how evelutionists or science theories are eventually disproven over time. or how they have a whole bunch of theories then put them in science books and say that they are fact. they once dated 2 tusks from the same animal, one dated back 7000 years and the other one was 2100 that makes you think how many times they could be wrong. and as far as the big bang goes, i dont see all of this going into a microscopic dot. like my friends science teacher said,"what we could be learning in science today can be absolutely false tomorrow".
