Anyway. Most people who are Atheist usually think that all Christians are bad and that they all push their views on others. Basically bashing a Christian for being a Christian and thinking they are all bible thumping, concert protesting, close minded people.
Which makes those people just as close minded. I kind of get annoyed at the Christians who do act that way, because they're giving people like me a bad name. Sometimes, I feel ashamed calling myself a Christian because the term now doesn't mean what it should. People hear "Christian" and think that they're going to hear some lecture on God or Moral.
However, I get annoyed with anyone else who is close minded and set in their own ways. I'm always open for discussion. Others should be too.
Don't get me wrong about what i said... Some of my best friends have been total 'bible bashers' sorry for the term.. but its apropriate... and they were great.. and they are what i would call a real christian. You could see how there belief actually did give them strength, and thats what it is all about. Belief. As i said all religions are either correct or wrong.. its just that the majority of christians today are not true.
Espeacially with all those bible programs... send us your money and you'll go to heaven.

Those programs are for people with no real faith who are desperate for something to believe in. They are so desperate, they send thier hard earned money to those fools.
I don't think the bible thumpers are great if they remain close minded and un-=open to others views. My views would no be what they are today if I had remained like that. Close minded and thinking that only I was right. I don't shove my views on others. They can accept them or not. Their choice. Hopefully people will at least listen to my views, and then gain something from them if they agree or not.

Thats the thing tho.. christianity being a young religion at 2003 years old, is closed minded because that is what society has made of it. and the new testiment.. you believe the bible is the exact word of god... and then you change it...
I THINK WHAT GOD MEANT TO SAY WAS...
I agree with some of the key fundemental things of christianty.. and they are pretty much the same in most religions.. therefor thats why i believe all religions are correct in there own way.. its just that god apeared to the people in differant ways because otherwise that society wouldn't accept him because it was too differant from what they know..
but i'm a pagan.. so what do i know right?

I'm Christian. :) And I agree 100% with what EmeraldTokyo has said.
I'm looked down upon by my 'fellow Christians' because I refuse to depend on a church for my faith, and I won't look to the bible before I look to my God. I will not shove my religion down anyone's throat, I've studied a lot of other religions, been very pagan, and I refuse to impose myself on others.
The 'Christians' that think they're on earth to judge others and force them to believe are the ones that have made the word 'Christianity' an obscenity.
If you're my friend, I'll pray for you. If you're my enemy...well. I'll pray for you, but I don't have to like you. *lol* If you're curious, I'll tell you everything I believe. But you won't ever see me standing on the corner handing out Chick Tracts and selling my faith. Sorry, but no.
{{{{everyone}}}}
It doesn't matter what you believe. The only thing that matters is respecting everyone's right to their faith.

To teach students about all religions would be nigh-impossible.

I´m a catholic,born of a religious fanatic.I´m not THAT much of a good christian,but I stand by my religion when it´s attacked.
And I think atheists suck because they have no beliefs in anything greater than they and thus have no faith, and he who lives without faith has no hope.

Anyway. Most people who are Atheist usually think that all Christians are bad and that they all push their views on others. Basically bashing a Christian for being a Christian and thinking they are all bible thumping, concert protesting, close minded people.
That's a sweeping generalization about Athiests, first and formost. It's a prejudical statement.
Athiests, by their very nature, don't believe in God.
How could they push something on someone else if they have nothing to push?
I have nothing against Christians, and I'm an athiest.
However, I do have something against arguements not based on objective reasoning.
Peep this:
Person A is a Roman Catholic.
Priest B says, "Homosexuals are bad people, who live in sin. Homosexuals will burn in hell. In the eyes of God, such acts are deviant, sinful behavior. Perhaps we can 'cure' them. Perhaps not. Until then, shun homosexuals, be intolerent of and admonish homosexuality."
Now, either Person A does what his church leader, the voice of his God, says to do, or he doesn't.
Person A is either a Good follower of his faith, who is xenophobic, and by dogma, intolerent of other groups, or Person A is a bad Catholic, and is only paying lip service to his/her God.
Which makes those people just as close minded.
I've never heard of a group of athiests rising up and killing Christians, or a disgruntled Athiest extremist killing a doctor for performing an abortion, or an Athiest preventing Christians from being Christian.

Of course it hasn't been proven. You can't prove things that happened in the past. There is however a significant amount of evidence to support both the Big Bang and Evolution.

What follows is my opinion, as an individual. I, in no way, speak for any group or system of beliefs. I take full responsibility for what I, myself, have to say, and should be judged by the indivdual accordingly.
Athiests believe in themselves. They exhalt humanity and the whole of the human condition above all else. Athiests show bravery for being in the vast minority, by choice. They deal with the opressive status quo hypocricy of the chruch, and constantly fight against sweeping generalizations and for civil liberties. If the church had their druthers, science would have never progressed. The earth would be the center of the universe. We'd still be in the Dark Ages were it not for the free thinkers. The genius of the Renissance, perhaps the greatest era known to mankind, was a movement away from faith in god, not towards it. We have religion to thank for the tortures of the Inquisition, the brutality of the Salem witch trials, and the blood-wars fought for the Crusades. And Athiests-- science, technology, progress.
How many people have died in the name "of God"?
And, in death, Athiests show bravery by acknowledging their own finality. An cessation of consciousness. An absolute end of oblivion.

basically what being a pagan is atually... serious about that.. and it makes sense.. when i first read about wicca and shamanism ans tuff like that it was like.. wow i've been saying this shit all my life.. doing this stuff all my life. this is what i've been doing.. wow... I still don't know what i am specifically.. but i am searching for the truth.. and one day.. i will find it.. because i think i know how.. it's just a long astral journey.
Also I agree with everything you said.. i was an atheiest for a long time.. and i still agree with what you said. I'm a thinker myself... but technology dulls the mind. I'd like to live a long time ago when people actually did stuff. Or way into the future when everythings free, and we have teleportation devices, and.. what are those things that materialise everything you want....

As a general rule, and in my experiences, I tend to get on well with the philosophical aspect of Paganism most of the time.
Pagans I know really don't shove their religion down other people throats, take responsibility for their actions, or use their religion as a platform for politics and justifications for crimes.
There are still places that you can go where daily toil and labor in natural atmospheres are the norm, you know.

Sorry was i shoving it down someones throat? If i was i didn't mean to.. i was just giving a little perspective on the subject. And your right.. they don't shove it down anyones throat becuase they believe in choice, and not one pagan religion denys the other.. they were there before most of todays religions.. you know some people even regard hinduism as a pagan religion.. i've always liked reading about it, and agree with many of there phylosphys.. My shaman friend, said that he doesn't know what i am but i am not a wiccan.. I used to think i was a wiccan/druid.. but now.. i'm not sure.. like i said.. im still searching..but i am alot happyer now :)

Judeo-Christianity tried to corner the market with "Thou shalt not have any strange Gods before me." Good Judeo-Christians, by the Ten Commandments, are intolerent.

Well, by definition Brahmanism (the Hindu faith) is polythiestic, and therefore is, in fact, a pagan religion. I believe it's in the top three most popular religions in the world.

According to Revelations, The antichrist who will supposedly rule the world is symbolically known as 'The Beast'. Apparently he will impose economic sanctions on the world, such that anyone who does not accept and bear 'the mark of The Beast' on their forehead or right hand wil not be allowed to buy, sell, or trade anything.
if i can remember my book of revelations
Time to read up.
I think this "mark of the beast" scenario is still possible. Christianity as a faith I do not follow, but I don't completely doubt the power of prophets, because I believe that there really are some rare gifted people like that. I think it's a prophecy that may still possibly come to fruition, perhaps even within my lifetime.
