I can't stress this enough.

WE DON'T WANT TO LOOK AS BARBARIC AS WE HAVE TO!!!

With the vast majority of the planet against us, it would be in our best interests (and everyone else) for us to look as sympathetic and apologetic as possible. Now, I'm not saying that Bush and everyone who is fighting this war with us are faking it, I'm saying that we need to show the world that disapproves of us that we are not the violent and threatening nation that everyone is making us out to be. It's as simple as that.
