This is a warning to anyone looking to monetize their site- do NOT choose interclick.com
I started using interclick around the beginning of July. I was under the assumption they were on a net 60 pay schedule, and seeing as how I joined mid-month I wasn't expecting a payment till september. End of september comes, and no payments. I started emailing them early october. I sent five emails during the course of october with no response. So I started searching around for info on interclick to find that a lot of people have been screwed over by them and never received payment. So I started to get worried
End of october I emailed one last time threatening to pull their ads. I got a response the next day from Andrew (VP) Apologizing because of his family emergency. Yeah fucking right. Anyway, he told me that I didn't fill out my W9 yet. Which was true. BUT- when I first started with interclick I asked if I should send them a W9 and they said wait until payment time. And never made the least effort to contact me about it. So I fill out the W9 and fax it, andrew says it never came through. This time I MANUALLY SCAN THE W9 AND ATTACH it to the email and send it. No response. I follow up by asking if it came through. Finally andrew responds and asks me if I want paid via check or paypal. I choose paypal since with a check they could say it got lost in the mail or some bullshit.
FINALLY a few days later (last friday) I received a paypal payment for $1000 USD, half of what I have accrued. I dropped their ads on Saturday. That was $1000 than I was ever expecting to get out of it, and if I get the remaining $1000 I'll be highly surprised. I'm marking it off as a mistake and a learning experience.
In the process I came across a community called sitepoint.com which has a forum of people that are smart in the whole site monetizing thing, and I've picked up some tips here and there. So it wasn't all bad.
But please guys. If you're gonna apply to an ad company, do your research first :p

Thanks for the warning. I had an account with them but luckily never used the ads.
Personally, I recommend Value Click (valueclickmedia.com) for popups, popunders and pay per thousand banner ads. Their payments are dead on, and their customer service is great.

http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.ph p?t=295649 sounds pretty familiar to whats going on with you.
See if that thread offers any advice - good luck! If they're more then a 1 man show, I'd go after that other thousand. A small claims suit costs alot less then $1000 and it requires almost no work on your part.

That doesn't really offer much to this thread. If you don't like them, please inform us of why as maybe it can help people who are looking for an ad provider for their site...

My question is, how did you accumulate $2,000 over the course of 2-3 months?!?!

How don't you make $2000 in 2-3 months?
I find it difficult.

yeah sitepoint is how I found out about them in the first place. Small claims was gonna be my original course of action but since they actually paid I'm gonna wait a little and see what happens

spreading your flash around does wonders : ) I get 10-20k unique visitors a day
Now, do you understand my opinion?
exactly what I used to think. But the bottom line is, popups will make you money. You might not click them but some do. Mainly the people who mindlessly browse the net just looking for random content to watch. That's why on my site if you have an account and are logged in you'll never see popups. Plus some publishers will pay you solely on how many times the popup is viewed (cost per thousand impressions, CPM) and not how many times it's clicked.
