It depends... what type is your internet connection?

It's probably your ISP and the fact that IE might not be connecting properly because of a setting in your computer. You may need to renew your IP address.
Go to Control Panel > Network & Internet Connections > Network Connections > click on your local area connection > click the "support" tab and then click on repair.
I had to do that quite a bit when I was in one of my dorm rooms in college. It was annoying but it worked.

Repairing isn't working :P
Not my ISP either because it's messed up at my friends house too (It's Me Labtop :D)
It's been messed up ever since I connected to my schools network, now only FireFox works.

I know at my old high school, you had to change your browser settings to go through a proxy server. Do you remember anything like that? If IE doesn't work, but firefox does, it has to be some setting in IE.

My friend did something in IE that prompted a username and pass thing to pop up... he filled it out and then it got through our internets blocking thing at school, I think he may have changed the IP as well...
Hope that helps at all with a possiblity for messing up my IE

Disable the proxy server. Should work then.

I was gonna say that as soon as I read that you had connected and then someone told ya. I had that problem when I connected to my school's network from home in order to get access to the journal databases at the library and then you have to remember to disconnect. It's a pain but it's nice because you don't have to pay for journal access (when you'd have to subscribe at X amount of $ each month).
