Yeah I'm sure you would have hated the "sad" expressions on the faces of the millions of Kuwaitis he gases/burned.
And when I say sad, I mean melted.

I say it would look alot like the face on all the mothers of the sons that Bush sent to there deaths in the search for WMDs that simply did not exist...
I saw the hang man should have two necks to break, Suddams and your president.

Well first off, I think this is what he wants. We should only give him the rest of his life of suffering, instead of putting him out of his misery .
But yeah, our government made him watch south park the movie, in which it makes fun of Saddam.
LOL

i always feel sorry for the "shiite" muslims. Sounds like someone from Lancashire saying "shite".

The Iranians seems to have dropped their claims on his ass, if I read the statement by their FM spokesperson today ("deserves no less than death" [...] "other crimes should not be overlooked") correctly. I assume Kuwait has, as well.
So, I guess the initial trial perspective is totally dead. As a person interested in the history of the region and it's conflicts and especially the Iran-Iraq war, I think that is very sad. Tons of interesting stuff would plausibly have come up in such trials. Then again, I guess justice in general can't be held hostage to the historic interest.
What now? Will they go through with the Anfal prosecution, or is this the end of the line: couple of weeks for appeal, and then he's hanging? Anyone in the know?
I find it ludicrous that we and the Iraqi puppet government felt the need to go it alone when there is a perfectly legitimate UN War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague which could have handled it just fine. It worked so well for Slobodan Milosevic that he died of sheer shame rather than stood trial. Consider Saddam is now 69 years old, it could have worked for him too.
I'm your average Afro-American fetus. For example: I enjoy basketball, I'm rather good when I play too, but I'm much too busy scratching my horrific cracked skin these days.

Someone had suggested making Saddam's death viewable on paperview, and have him beheaded. All of the money raked in would help the families that have had a family member die in Iraq.

The more you talk about him, the bigger the martyr he becomes.

He wasn't a religous fanatic though. He was just a power hungry dictator.
