I'm like, so fucking what. She said other people will think I'm "a troubled city kid." I DON'T GIVE A FLYING FUCK WHAT PEOPLE THINK OF ME. It's like I embarress her. Everything I do, according to her, reflects how she is as a mother.

I wanted a Black Dahlia Murder hoodie, she says no, for the same reasons as the poster.

She thinks she's somehow sheltering of protecting me. She's not protecting me from jack shit. If I have no freedom of expression as a teenager, it will carry on, and when I'm free of her reign, I'll go fucking crazy because I was deprived of it as a teenager.

Teenagers should be just left to themselves. Parents and teens are water and oil. They have to realize we grow up sometime ONLY IF WE GET IT OUT OF OUR SYSTEM. No other time in my life will I be able to express myself in such a way. I will have a job, wife and children, and I will have to be an honorable, respectable person. I don't have to be now, so why is she so fucking stupid.

Doesn't she realize it's not important what I choose to wear, listen to or say at this point in my life?

The more she fights me, the more I get frustrated, and the less I give a fuck about her opinion.

I finally realize she has no power over me. Sure, she can ground me, but I have to cooperate with her to allow myself to be grounded. She can suggest I am not allowed to dye my hair, but she can't make me not.

Seriously, give her a kiss on the cheek, or just be really mannerly............thank yous for things that you probably take for granted, just let her know that you appreciate all that she's done for you and she'll know that you're mature enough to get on in the real world and do what you see fit.
