I wasn't sure if I should put this on politics or general. But since somebody will probably end up finding a way to turn it into a political debate, I decided to put it in politics.
According to this this article , Seattle, Washington (where I live) is ranked to be home of the highest percentage of highly-educated Americans in the US.
The article provides a list of the top 20 cities by the percentage of citizens that have received a college degree or higher, and the median household income.
Topping the chart is Seattle with 52.7% of residents having received a college degree or higher, and the media income among them is $49,297 a year.
Interesting read....

Actually, I found it quite boring. Just my opinion on a lame topic.
Injured Workers rights were taken away in the 1920's by an insurance company (WCB), it's high time we got them back.

Coincidentally it is the only educated state in the US.

Actually its one of the highest educated cities in the WORLD, not just the US you fucking dipshit. Its MUCH higher than London, MUCH higher. Do some research before you make a stupid fucking claim like that.

How's property in Seattle? I know it's a beautiful place in terms of scenery. I've been considering moving there in a few years, but now I'm not so sure because you live there :P joking. No but seriously, how is crime rate and property value? Hm... maybe cia.gov has some answers I'm looking for...

Cellardoor, you not only care, you TELL people how smart you are, how great your country is, how great your state is, how great your city is. However that says nothing about you individually. Screams of a Napoleonic complex to me. Might wanna try working on that.

Why don't YOU reread what he said and put it into the context of the situation. He wasn't praising Seattle, he was insulting the US. He was suggesting that Seattle, Washington is the only educated 'state' in the US (its a city actually). Thereby making all other states uneducated.
He took a cheap, misguided jab at the entire country of the US. But he was too dumb to realize that Seattle is a CITY, not a state, and that London (his hometown) has a MUCH LOWER percentage of highly-educated citizens than Seattle has, let alone the other cities on the top 20 list.

Ummm....who cares?
Great...Seattle has a high percentage of well educated people. Good for it. It doesn't mean anything. If Seattle is so good, why doesn't it DO anything about it? The day that I care if Seattle is well educated is the day when someone from Seattle finds the cure for cancer or AIDs.

I understand, but you responded by defending Seattle.
This whole argument seems to have gotten off to a screaming series of non-sequiturs.

Property is REALLY, REALLY expensive in Seattle. Crime is relatively low. And taxes are high.
I'm not even going to mention how much I pay for rent for my apartment, but lets just say I have a middle class flat, downtown about a half mile from seattle center, with access to private parking and a gym/spa. But I would be paying about 1/3 what I'm paying now if I lived somewhere else in the country. Fortunately for me though my dad pays for half of my rent until I graduate from college.
If you move to Seattle it would probably be a good idea to get a place in the suburbs, but even then it is pretty ridiculous. Renters and homeowners both are taxed up the ass by the Democrats in office in our state, but Seattle is the worst part by far.
Its not HORRIBLE but be prepared to be forking out $900-$2000 a month on a decent apartment in downtown.

General. You boasting is not a political topic.....
According to this this article , Seattle, Washington (where I live) is ranked to be home of the highest percentage of highly-educated Americans in the US.
Which means....what exactly? What does this prove?
The article provides a list of the top 20 cities by the percentage of citizens that have received a college degree or higher, and the median household income.
That does not mean that those citizens did not receive that degree elsewhere, or that those citizens didn't move to Seattle.....
Topping the chart is Seattle with 52.7% of residents having received a college degree or higher, and the media income among them is $49,297 a year.
Again, I'm wondering how many of that 52% moved to Seattle post-college......
Interesting read....
Terrible read. All you are left with at the end are questions. A better read would be the % of people nationwide who belive in little green aliens from outer space.....

Actually, Seattle is well on its way to finding some of these answers. There are numerous large cancer research complexes. The Bill Gates Foundation, with it's 30billion dollars is to be based in Seattle. The University of Washington leads research in a lot of fields. A Seattle reasearch Lab just released a map of the mouse brain and it's functions, being well on the way to mapping the human brain, although this is much harder to do because you cannot easily obtain human brains to study.

I never thought I'd say this, but Camarohusky is right. Seattle IS at the forefront of medical research. The University of Washington, receives more government aide to fund medical research than any other university in the world. I go to UW. The Medical sector gets ALL of the attenion. My major is Military Science and my colleagues and the ROTC students are the black sheep of the school.

I frequent Seattle lots. It's a great place if you know the spots; and expecially if you've got some cash. My ex used to think Washington State was a bunch of country bumpkins, nothing but trees and coffee shops. Which is half-true =)

Your saying pretty much the same thing he is. If I said im the smartest person in my home town people are just going to say get ta fuck ya arogant cunt! And I know there going to say and there probably going to say something similar to you for making this topic. Im sorry pal.
