People seen to want a personal opinion on this so I will state mine.

From what I've read on Satanism is that it's more of a worship of the power within you and it advocates selfish,greedy and evil ends.

To my own personal view it seems to be nothing short of selfish athiesm.

I think we should classify Buddhism as a teaching, not as a religion.
Like Confusianism (not sure how you spell it in English).

Actually I kind of believe in some things which are considered supernatural; karma for example (more when I’m stoned than when I’m not) but I just believe these are things that our relatively poor understanding of science has yet to explain or quantify.

I don't see the point really, atheists aren't bound together by any means - we don't (globally) share anything in common, other than having no religion.

I wondered about that too. I think Satanism is about leading a life more based on self-indulgence or relying on yourself more, or something like that. I don't understand how Satanists use spells and curses, but say that they don't believe in Satan.

It's a blanket term. Some satanists are just atheists that feel a need to mock others instead of shutting the fuck up and quitely accepting their own beliefs.

While other satanists worship satan as a God for some illogical mind-bending reason. (I prefer the previous of the two)

The best way I've heard Satanism described is that it is a religion of choice.

Lucifer chose to rebel against God, as he did not condone the way he was doing things, and did not wish to support him. This is why 'Satanism' is named after him. Satanists worship free will and the ability to choose, not Satan himself. It's a very practical faith, unlike every other religion out there.

It's too bad it's named after Satan... and that it's called a religion instead of a belief system, otherwise a lot more people would be part of it.
