satanism actually sounds much more practical and realistic compared to most religions, sort of like a type of paganism but without bothering with gods or anything like that. one thing i dont get- if they dont worship satan, didn't they ever think calling themselves after him would give the wrong impression?

Cool, I found another brit saying that's uncommon everywhere else.
To "get the wrong end of the stick" is to get the wrong meaning of something. Like thinking you've been insulted when someone tries to compliment you.
getting the wrong end of the stick is a proverb, hence, it is sometimes said that you "get the wrong end of the proverbial stick".

Nah, Macbeth can't be classed as a tragic hero, he's not admirable.. Now Oedipus is a great example of a tragic hero.. An admirable man who committed the ultimate crimes out of no fault of his own and yet he still constantly aimed for the truth.

Okay…so he murdered a few people, so what? He was originally a good man who was corrupted by his wife’s ambition and other things. He realised his sins and repented.
That’s why I like Macbeth, he’s an imperfect hero, which adds to the tragedy.
Of course….it goes without saying that Shakespeare’s vision of the king is nothing compared to the real Macbeth (who’s castle incidentally, was in my wee town).

I agree with Romeo and MacBeth, but I'd hardly call Brutus a hero, let alone a tragic one.

Hmm, you'd figure I realised you were refering to Shakespeare, with the names Romeo and MacBeth dropping, wouldn't you?

Maybe, maybe not.
You would think that on this board.
But unlike Cassuis, Brutus had deep doubts and regrets much like Macbeth did.

This entire topic is full of Satanic Lore and I loathe its presence on this site. We all know, or should know, that the Holy Trinity is the One True God, and all others are false. The idea of the Dark One being worthy of worship makes me sick. Let us not go down that road. No one should ever be permitted to dabble in such dark sided stuff as it only leads to one place...

The Laws of man are flawed, the laws of God are higher and just.

Secular nation.
First Ammendment: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Dude, he's just going to come back with "the laws of God are higher than any man's laws" and it will just become a cyclic argument of whose laws are superior. jwelch you've no place in this topic if you're going to argue pro-God and contribute nothing to a better understanding of the thinking behind Satanism. You are exactly the type of person the thread-starter was trying to get away from when he formed this thread. Either contribute something to the thoughts fueling Satanism or stick to the other threads. This is not a Christianity/God thread, it is stirctly about Satanist ideology.

If you are reffering to Lucifer, the 'Devil' former angel in the bible who goes against god and is cast into hell, It's called Luciferianism.
Although even then, philosophical Luciferianism isn't even about the real devil.
